Is anyone else getting sick of commentators and pundits acting like Iceland are complete **** and are just playing way above their levels? They're a genuinely good team. Call them that ffs. This will be Argentina's hardest group game, for certain.
I eat my words about Iceland, great display from their lads. Messi firing blanks too, who would have thought it
Yeah I don’t get that re the VAR. surely that should have been seen as a stone wall penalty by the video ref?
Ronaldo was the same in Euro 2016 against Iceland, he did **** all all game because Iceland hounded him all game just as they have Messi today. Defensively, Iceland are ****ing superb.
I'm happy that VAR isn't being used constantly like it was in the FA Cup games. Particularly when it's subjective calls where there isn't a universal "correct" decision. I don't agree with the refs interpretation on a lot of the decisions so far but at least it's still a fluent game of football where everyone knows that's going on and we're not having goals overturned afterwards.
Will be the Argies hardest group game, few teams are as brilliant defensively and organisationally as Iceland. A draw was the right result.
While it’s always nice to see the dirty Argie bastards lose I don’t really get the massive clamour for underdog teams to get results in the World Cup. Especially teams who play anti football ala Tony Pulis/Sam Alladice coaching manual. For me the World Cup is about the worlds best teams and players showing their talent on the biggest stage. Not **** players constantly fouling better ones, or pumping 40 yard throws into the box.
