Yeah all relative with Cowie & Murray leagues weren't awash with obscene amounts of money but they still wouldn't support managers hence our constant lack of big money buys (both our local neighbours seemed to find the cash) Mic Mac was left to survive in premier league with most of the over performing lower league players who took us from the championship. Peter Reid was not supported with big cash especially when we were near the top of premier league. Big money was spent when Drummaville then Short appeared. Regardless, right now we are floundering and need action instead of short thrift.
Not sure how to take you - agree with a lot of your points but that bold sentence makes me wonder if you're serious at all! All about opinions mind - I'd rather we stick with Grayson personally - he's taking all of the **** and fighting back - We haven't lost in 3 so I'll take that as a positive. I wouldn't find any of those listed as the improvement you seem to. Most of them sacked from previous jobs due to failure (some a number of times) - yet Grayson wasn't. He chose to leave his previous role to improve his managerial record with us. Built good sides previously when given time (Leeds, Preston) or are they only successful because he left? I see myself as someone who sees positive stuff - some call that unrealistic and then call themselves realistic because they only see the negatives of current situation. If we got one of those managers and they failed then what would those negative "realists" think?
I would be amazed if they were I would be amazed if any players were being sounded out / looked at for a possible Jan transfer. There will be no forward thinking from a football perspective - only financial planning to get Short his money back at the Club's expense
I want to argue - I want to read that Martin Bain thing from the other day and say "But look what he's said" but, in reality, I agree completely with what you say. It was funny hearing the line "Ellis Short still has an emotional attachment to SAFC" - Does he **** - I have an emotional attachment. The people on here have an emotional attachment - Short has financial and nothing else!
Sums up most of my opinions but I think SG is near the end here if we get beat in any of the next 2games
If we don't win either of the next 2 games I would say we are in deep **** and it probably is time for Grayson to go. I'm not saying we are not currently in the **** but any less than 3 points from the next 2 games and we are in serious danger of the drop. As things stand we are in danger but it is recoverable under Grayson. If we lose both or lose one and draw one of the next 2 then it really is difficult to see where the next win is coming from. I'm still behind Grayson as things stand but the next 5 days will show us exactly where we currently stand. I know I've stated earlier that changing managers rarely has a prolonged positive impact at least for us anyway. However any less than 3 points from our next 2 and frankly it's a risk I feel we simply have to take. It sounds ****ing awful to say but getting beat off Bristol City on Saturday won't come as too much of a suprise. The Bolton game next Tuesday is absolutely vital and could be pivotal for not only this season but the next 5.
I'm hoping for a draw against City, but would take a win, a defeat will heap pressure on the team for the Bolton game and that is a worry, If we lose the next two, things will look very bad indeed, but even then if we are looking up for it, I would still tick with the manager, at least up to Xmas and if we are out of the bottom three by then let him carry on.
If we get rid of him we'll end up with a Steve Keen not a Karanka, most of those managers listed are walking a tightrope with their rep. Why in a million years would they choose Sunderland as their make or break job? It's just getting silly round here these days, when it's not doom mongers looking for computer game solutions it's happy clappers banging on about three wins in a row starting next game.
Doom mongers and happy clappers are both realistic one negatively and one positively and I know who I'd prefer - the whole club and need positive support atm
Gutted. It used to be the best board. But just like inside the ground, they've all ****ed off. Now left wandy and Monty.
I've looked in on all the other sites and they're all dead except RTG which is just pillar to post dick heads. People are sick to ****ing death of this club.
I found that list mind boggling. Average at best. If that's what we can hope for why not just pay Grayson off, pay one of them off before they even join and get Ball back in charge.
The one thing I want us to do at this point is to try and Phillips in as Grayson's number two. It seems such an obvious move to me.
