Might pop to Papas and get the family meal deal great value. I'll probably pick something up for the wife and kids while I'm there
oh yea I left Hull for Carlisle for the sunnier weather (nope) more money (nope) better job (nope) but the upside is that I'm only 3 hour drive away unlike Brisbane / Qatar? cambridge Tiger et al- so when I'm in town for a home match I make sure I get pattie and chips or the occasional fish from the best city in the UK- downside is that I'm fast becoming a fat bastard- oh well !!
Anyone here have the balls to order a solo patty to eat, there and then, whilst they wait for their fish to be cooked?
I never have. Usually seems to be 'builder' types who do though.
Cod!!! Please leave the thread quietly and do not come back.Ohhh yes guilty as charged. I have no problem doing that. Just shout out Can ya put me a large cod in and a pattie to eat now ... Get in.

Point taken Chazz. I left 'Ull for two of those three reasons.
I'll be in Gran Canaria on Friday. Ok, I'll miss me fish, chips, pattie, bread n butter, cup of char but I'll be in a place in Puerto Mogan that gently pan fries a slab of tuna as if it's being kissed by the gods themselves, serves it with canarian potatoes boiled to perfection, freshly made mojo sauce and large, juicy canarian tomatoes with fresh bread rubbed with pungent, mild flavoured garlic. Mebbes a pint or two of lager, or a jug of sangria if I'm feeling that way inclined.
A stroll in the late afternoon sun.
Beautiful sunset.
Awe inspiring volcanic landscape.
The love of a good woman.
I'll survive.
I may have left for slightly sunnier weather but it doesn't mean we miss out on our Haddock and Chips.....
Chumley Warners here in North Lakes, does Haddock (Unfortunately from Iceland not UK), proper chips, mushy Peas, Curry Sauce, battered sausage. It also does cod, but who on earth would want to eat some of that !!They also have a jar of pickled eggs !!!!! Im not sure if the reason they pickle them is because no one eats them so it preserves them....
Only downside is, compared to the UK its not cheap obviously, but then again if it means we don't eat again for a couple of weeks, then thats a cross we have to bear.... Of course there are loads of easter eggs to revert to when the going gets tough....![]()

A couple of weeks ago, I had the nicest Fish and Chips I've had for a long while from a takeaway just near the bus station in Filey.
I got the small fish and chips special for £3.
The fish was about as long as a regular polystyrene tray, but was about 3 inches thick and was absolutely beautiful.
The whole fish must have been a bloody whopper if this was just a section.
I am actually slavering thinking about it.
Much better value than the rip off brigade at Bridlington.
In Hull, East Park Chippy is the best but the queues are worse than getting into the KCOM.
The day of the year when all the posters who have left Hull for more money, better jobs, sunnier weather regret their unforgivable actions!!
Large Haddock, Pattie, Chips and Mushy Peas.
Bread and butter Cup of Tea(Yorkshire tea bag).

This is just up the road... pint of Tetleys to go with it. yum yumSee what moving away does for you
I recently went for the saveloy option (oo er missus) while waiting in the queue at Grovehill Fisheries in Beverley. I was not disappointed.
I tried pattie and chips, but it's too much potato for me, even for somebody of Irish descent.
Haddock, chips, peas and a brew. No time for bread, there's nothing left to put in said bread.
My mate goes for curry sauce. I still maintain that it shouldn't be called that, I've never had a curry that tastes like curry sauce. Now the Currywurst in Berlin, that's a curry sauce that belongs on a sausage. A big sausage. A big, German sausage.
Penis.
