more money then sense, but you can`t blame the kids who go there thinking they`re made with the contracts they no doubt offer, I think Delph might be the Milner replacement and get more game time then most though to be honest

Completely agree, the fee is nothing to them they just paid what they had to in order to get him.

He's a great prospect and they have some incredible players for him to learn from, he should only get better with them.

Whilst he's not the complete package he has the potential to be great, it's good for England that he's gone there to improve, it will be interesting to see what happens to him in the next few seasons.

For Sterling, see Shaun Wright Phillips, Aaron Lennon, Nathon Redmond........ Only reason he got so much exposure is because he was at a big club like Liverpool who didn't have many other decent players. He is possibly the most overrated player I have ever seen. He will be transferred to a mid table club for under 20 mill within 3 years, and then on to a lower prem team a few years after than for a lot less.

while Sterling is a decent prospect, I think his head needs sorting first, the lad has believed all the press hype, I`m surprised his head fitted through the door at Man Citee. If he knuckles down and concentrates on his game he could be one of our better players, but alas we have seen so many false dawns of prospects who go down the drain believing they are actually better then they are at that time. I speak as a fan of the National team as opposed to Man Citee btw.

I think Sterling is a much better player than those you have mentioned but I take your point.

It is make or break for him, his attitude will play a major part, he could be great but he may equally end up being a huge anti climax.

Thats bollocks. There's a stereotype of young black English wingers with loads of pace but no end product but he doesn't fit that at all. Liverpool used him as a playmaker and even as a centre forward because he's way more than just pace. He's got talent. That should be obvious to anyone who's watched Match of the Day a few times.

It's all about opinions I suppose. My opinion is that he's a complete hype job and will fade from the spotlight within a few seasons

And Liverpool only used him as a playmaker because they had **** all else. I honestly don't know why we build these young english players up to be something special. All it does is either put pressure on them and they collapse under it, or they become trapped in their own hype believing they are "world class" and become over confident underperformers on huge salaries, Look at the so called English "Golden Generation"

I hope he proves me wrong and we have a genuine world class English player on our hands. I just don't see it whatsoever. Oxelaide Chamberlin is a far better player in my opinion, who actually plays the playmaker role a lot better than sterling.

I think in Ibe they have someone who'll play as a proper winger, be more direct and be more beneficial to Liverpool for getting crosses into the box for Benteke to bury.

I haven't been that impressed with Sterling - and for £49m Liverpool will be laughing their cocks off.

Man City are desperate to sign players so they comply with the toughening of the home grown rules. Anyone half decent they can get their hands on.

We all know they wouldn't have given Delph a second thought otherwise.

So now him and others will be there to making up the numbers, instead of playing, week in week out, elsewhere.

Kind of makes a mockery of the rules intentions.

I reckon Delph has been promised a certain amount of game time, only reason I can think of for the sudden U-turn

Drogba to sign for Montreal or Chicago in the coming days. Chicago has made the biggest offer but Drogba seems to want to go to Montreal and held transfer talks with them today.

Newcastle United are close to signing highly-rated Anderlecht defender Chancel Mbemba for £7m.

Roma are set to beat Inter Milan and Fiorentina in the race to sign Chelsea winger Mohamed Salah.

Arsenal have accepted an offer from Galatasaray for Mathieu Flamini [Medya Haber]

Leicester City have made a bid worth in the region of £7m for Nice midfielder Nampalys Mendy.
