Liverpool have apparently met the £32.5m buy out clause for Benteke. He's a brilliant player with a goal every other game - I just don't know how he fits into the current Liverpool tippy tappy style? He thrives on crosses, which again - Liverpool don't do. Strange signing for them.

Spurs will offer cash plus winger Aaron Lennon for Everton midfielder James McCarthy.

Espanyol have confirmed Real Madrid have agreed a deal to sign goalkeeper Kiko Casilla.

Filipe Luis is in talks with Atletico Madrid over a return to the Spanish side.

Chelsea are set to make an improved bid worth £26m for Everton defender John Stones.

Delph just made himself the least popular bloke in Birmingham.

After much praise on this forum, about refusing the money on order to play football, it would appear that the lure of the pound has got the better of him.
It should also give Villa some much needed "wonga" that they are alleged, by some, to be short of.<whistle>

You never know whether he was promised that they wouldn't sell Benteke and then they have gone against that.

Villa could be a force next year if they invest well. They will have already likely had £30million to spend add to that the £50m made from transfers.

I have a feeling one of our players could be a Villa player next year. Chester, Brady or Huddlestone.

There's nothing Villa could do - Liverpool met his buy out clause.

Spotted the Sterling comments from a few pages back. Whilst the fee looks huge Man City have got arguably the best player in his age group in league football. Easy to compare him with other key players of a similar position (Sanchez etc) but they have mostly 5-6 years in him.
If they get the happy Sterling from two seasons ago then they've a good player. If they get the player of last season who was clearly disillusioned then they may have bought a one season wonder.

Completely agree, the fee is nothing to them they just paid what they had to in order to get him.

He's a great prospect and they have some incredible players for him to learn from, he should only get better with them.

Whilst he's not the complete package he has the potential to be great, it's good for England that he's gone there to improve, it will be interesting to see what happens to him in the next few seasons.

It is good for England, unless he doesn't play. Same with Delph.

Cant see Delph playing. They've ruined Rodwell and Sinclair. They've paid 11 million for some kid from Fulham who probably wont see the light of day either.
