BREAKING: Crystal Palace's Brede Hangeland signs new one-year contract

Fulham are leading a host of Championship clubs in the race to sign Crystal Palace striker Fraizer Campbell.

Everton are close to signing Barcelona winger Gerard Deulofeu for a fee worth in the region of £4.5m.

BREAKING: David De Gea WILL sign for Real Madrid. £25m, announcement soon.

Relatively cheap. Buffon went for £33m in 2001. In these times of inflated fees, you'd think one of the world's best goalies leaving Man United as one of their most important players, would cost more than that.

Agreed.

Also would have thought they wouldn't allow Dave to go unless they were getting one of the seemingly limitless pool of world class talent Madrid hoard coming the other way.

Got to be at that price.

Coventry City boss Tony Mowbray has reportedly held talks to sign out-of-contract German striker Nick Proschwitz, according to the Coventry Telegraph.

The 28-year-old had a loan spell with the Sky Blues towards the back end of last season, but only managed one goal in nine appearances.

He was largely unimpressive during his loan spell, proving ineffective in front of goal, which included a penalty miss in the last game of the season away to Crawley Town.

The 28-year-old is currently a free agent after being told he is no longer wanted at Brentford, but Mowbray is confident the former Hull City striker is capable of scoring 20 goals in League One.

“I have been pleased with Proschwitz who I think is a goalscorer” said the Coventry boss, “and with the right ammunition would score 20 goals a season. Not that we’ve seen that on the pitch but I have seen it every day in training and he would score goals.”

Since joining Hull from German club SC Paderborn 07 for £2.6 million in 2012, Proschwitz has struggled to hold down a regular first team spot wherever he has been and has also struggled for goals.

He only managed two goals since signing for Brentford at the start of last season but a move to Coventry could see him rediscover the form that led him to a big money move to England three years ago.
