I'd forgotten about Spurs being relegated, funny ole decade that was with two big clubs going down...although I think we can add Chelsea to that list as well, so that would be three.

Yeah you can’t say his signings have been good overall but dross on big money like Rashford and Maguire were always going to take time to shift. Not saying he’s done a good job of that either. Don’t rate the bloke but still like that they’ve backed him at a time every club bins managers so readily.

No idea about his popularity amongst the Utd fanbase but he's often been a source of ridicule from rival fans despite the silverware success. I think their fans, somewhat similar to ours, may just be sick and tired of managerial merry go rounds and want a manager backed over a few years.

As for the squad, I think that's largely on him and who he's working with on transfers. As I said, a lot of former Ajax/ Eredivisie amongst their ranks now, a decent bunch are who he's previously managed too.

You missed the best times mate, Hollins, Osgood, Harris etc playing on dodgy pitches, when there were no rules about knocking lumps out of one another. Then Bates came along and wanted to electrocute everyone. <laugh>

Yeah funny enough I did think it might not be such a bad idea at the time, as mental as that sounds now. Unfortunately the absolutely awful side of the game back then, along with the reputations that some of the London clubs had.

Maguire and rashford are pennies compared to the pounds he's been splashing. To be honest i hadn't realised it myself until it was pointed out to me. Its admirable what united are doing as arsenal done the same and lego head is coming good.
