we didn’t win the trophy

therefore there must be a discussion or two to be had

doesn’t mean people don’t see the positives

dont be so sensitive

****s <ok>

Reviews should be conducted after every single tourney.

Southgate should of gone for it, i think the tactics were poor especially second half

There's still problems from time-to-time with fans being not so much ticketless, but with abysmal stewarding and organisation, Think United were playing in France about a decade ago and it all went tits up through shambolic organisation by the French. And at any major football event, you simply have to prepare to repel ticketless fans trying to blag themselves in. Even had the gate been 300k last night, there would be thousands still trying to get in.

It's a concern for sure. I can remember see pics of one particular Prem game in recent times, and the crush in the street outside to get in the ground had not been controlled. It might have been Fulham, trying to cast memory back here.

How we got through that second half without conceding another two or three goals I'll never know. The game changed from Italian control to total domination with the two Italian subs on 55 minutes. And Southgate did - nothing. Criminal.

Fans got into the aisles of Wembley without tickets, they were standing and blocking people from getting to their seats in a certain section. I've listened to several accounts from witnesses that had tickets.

If you'd watched the footage, you would have seen fans stormed in when they got through the barriers. Security was poor, the Hillsborough report was supposed to stop stuff like this happening. Once again those in charge of the event failed. This could cost us future events.

Why do Liverpool fans get sensitive when Hillsborough is mentioned, it was subject to a report, parts of which dictated future legislation, it's going to get mentioned, it's part of how we operate today.

To be fair when we were their age we all bunked into raves football and festivals in the 80s.

I used to bunk into the Bridge over the railway tracks regularly.

Those Middle Aged men knocking kids out for bunking in were the same people who did Two to the turn of the stile in the 80s

This

completely agree. In the stadium we were very quiet in second half and delighted to get to extra time at 1-1

Like I said after Denmark game all this stuff about Southgate being a genius delaying his subs is bollocks.

see Scotland game for not making a triple sub early

They couldn't do one to a turn nowadays. There's one in particular who looks like they'd have to open up the ambulance gates to get in.

I remember one night in Cyprus…best night of the holiday by far, I had bare jokes with Comm
Why not, if you are just lying by the pool or in your room doing nothing why wouldn't you pick up the phone and have a browse.

I still remember when we had nigh on 18k in my lots tinpot ground in the 80's, I still remember back to that day and thinking, close the fooking gates. I'm sure it was before Hillsborough, a disaster always waiting to happen.

I've been awake for days and I can feel myself changing which doesn't usually end well. I'm going to try my best to get some sleep now before it turns serious. Take care everybody and good night, see you when I'm back.

Big difference is that Mancini is a winner, his trophy count is nothing to scoff at. He knows finals.

I don't think it was too much for Southgate to work out given the players at his disposal. There is the likelihood he thought, 'well my cautious approach got us this far...' that he could think of nothing else.

But by 96 mins the Italians had taken off all their best attacking players and they were almost forced to play for penalties. At that point our subs should've been to take control of the game to win. I thought that was supposed to be the game plan tbh.

Also it's a shame we didn't learn anything from Spain's 2nd half against Italy. By 90 mins the Italians were dead on their feet and crawled there way to pens. In the final, Italy had full control and most of the possession in the 2nd half and were able to cope much better in extra time. And yet we have a better attack than Spain but couldn't manage the same.

Anyway back to what I was saying earlier, albeit messing about.

Why did Southgate pull out his shopping list when it came to pens? Surely he mentally already knows, and the players themselves would have been prepared, no?
