I think it had something to do with the legal ramifications of the Dutch league being null and voided, iirc. Not so much the French and other leagues terminating their leagues and determining positions on points per game and so forth. Indeed, it was absolutely imperative the league be finished and null and voided because the aforementioned old people would definitely survive Covid better than any other course of action.
