Paid my taxes and I'll willingly pay more, which is why I've voted Labour

Well perhaps if labour don't win you can contribute your tax savings to a charity?

If labour voters want to help everybody out as they claim, there is literally nothing stopping them.

Absolutely spot on.

I should have served in one of the worlds elite fighting units, placing myself in extreme danger for free.

All the while paying for my rifle, uniform and ammo out of my own pocket.

I also agree that parents who spend their family allowance on all manner of ****e deserve further assistance from me in feeding their children.

I have seen the light.

not ALL that cant afford to feed their kids would rather spend their money on drink and ***s.
but hey lets all punish the few by punishing the many.

Zero hours does work for some, students and the like, but would you want to live trying to bring up your family not knowing from one week to the next how many hours you were going to allocated? I know I wouldn't.

I'm not particularly a Corbyn fan, albeit I think he's done extremely well in the main during the campaign, as he's actually had his voice heard and people have definitely warmed to him, me included.

I wouldn't trust the flip flopping, wooden May as far as I could throw her. Strong and stable my arse, she's governing by populist opinion in the run up to this election.
I think apart from the few on here most are likeminded people who get annoyed at the same things! It's the small details that affect yourself or those around you that sway you one way or the other whilst voting? You've heard my views, large wage rises for unskilled workers will be the nail in the coffin of lots of small businesses! Defence of our country! ( even though it's hard to defend when most are born here who want to harm us ). I just think the female Montgomery burns has it!

So about 9 billion quid per year is being diddled from you in fraud?!?! You could do quite a bit with that money. And that's just the theft just think of the number for people claiming legally but only because they choose not to work.

£9 billion is chump change in Britain's economy, which is $2.849 trillion. Tax evasion and avoidance as it stands costs the treasury more than £100 billion. I think people should be more angry at that tbh.

All this chat about benefits scroungers etc but one thing that never gets brought up is the cash in hand market. I've had a lot of work done on my house and the amount of people who turn up in flash as **** motors and live in amazing houses themselves who then offer an 'off the books' price. **** off, how does that work? Not only are you collectively ripping the country off of millions but why the **** should I pay tax and you don't?

It annoys me that nobody ever brings this one up and instead goes for an easier target.

Probably because most people would rather pay less for having work done on their house given the chance.

I think you'll find that cash ends up disposable income and will get handed over a bar or in a restaurant? Tax will be paid in the end but not by the right person?

Oh so that kind of fraud is ok but benefit fraud is wrong?

Apply that system to me then and I promise to spend my untaxed salary in bars and restaurants.

Why would I be commiting fraud if an electrician says 'yeah that'll be £80 cash please' and I say 'here you go'?

Because both parties know the implications of cash in hand and that it hasn't been taxed. You're both guilty.

I'm feeling there's a little one rule for one and fraud is fine when it suits...

Tax evasion accounts for way more than the truly feckless though, and yet this Govt employs 5 times the number of staff chasing dole cheats than it does tax dodgers, never right.

That's often bandied about and it's true that there are more investigators chasing benefit fraud than there is income tax fraud, but that doesn't really tell the full story. There are 26,000 tax collectors in this country, all of them are effectively looking for fraud in peoples returns. Also, the two involve completely different things, tax inspectors generally just have to go through company accounts to check if anything dodgy is going on, whereas investigation benefit fraud often involves far more man power to see if claimants are actually going to work while claiming etc.

In my thirty years of business, I've been subject of about ten tax investigations. Most of them were just standard random VAT inspections, but one was for a Employee Benefit Trust scheme and one was a personal income tax investigation. It might be easy for billionaires to get away with stuff, but for us mere mortals, the controls are pretty tight.

The ****ers went through every detail of every business trip going back years, they disallowed everything I'd ever had out of a mini bar in a hotel ffs.

You're not he is.

However, it's an interesting moral question. If I met you outside your house and said I've just nicked this bike its worth a grand but you can have it for £80 cash would you buy it?

Both offers involve crimes.

Link?

If a contractor asked for a cheque he'd get a cheque, a bank transfer he'd get a bank transfer.

The 'tax evasion' banner covers a lot of things though, much of that estimated £100b is just duty/VAT not paid on fake and smuggled alcohol and cigs.

typical Labour response to any argument, abuse, riot, ignore the facts, you are so typical its not true - you abuse the disabled then you come on here trying to preach decency and principles - presumably you don't want to pay for your ill health in old age, you just want someone else to pay for it no doubt - a Labour freebee - some rich bastard will pay for you - get to ****

Dont know what this is about and cant be arsed to look

But

Ben would never abuse the disabled

Infact in the real world he would help anyone
As everyone on this board would
