The same Ian Austin who was involved in an expenses scandal regarding his two houses in London - I don't think that the Labour voters of the north will give his comments too much regard.

It sounds to me remarkably like Corbyn's Labour Party. A few nationalizations of key industries, a bit of wealth tax and financial transaction tax, all coupled with the decentralization of economic and political power - all things which Britain needs and, far from being red blooded socialism, were par for the course for most western political parties up until the madness of the 80s. All good Keynesian mixed economy stuff - we do, of course, have a few right wing nutters claiming that it is all rampant Marxism - but then anything left of Genghis Khan would be for them. Karl Marx would have turned in his grave at seeing the wishy washy Labour Party of today described in those terms ! Apart from being economically moderate - the Labour Party also stands in the centre on Brexit - namely ''We will negotiate a good deal - somewhere close to the Norway model (which protects jobs) and then let the people decide'' - thus retaining a bit of sanity in a political landscape which has polarized itself.
Austin's advice will certainly resonate with traditional Labour supporters who voted leave and are disgusted at the underhanded attempts by their MPs to thwart Brexit. Just the kind of endorsement for those that have never voted Tory but like Boris's style and are put off by Corbyn's leadership and Momentum's overthrow of their party.
The polls say that the people who want so scrap this nonsense of Brexit and stay in the EU have surpassed those who want to make themselves poorer considerably...They have come to their senses that leaving with Boris is a bad idea..
I think that what is more interesting than one oddball who has left his party, is that 75% of undergraduates say that they are against Brexit, and will vote tactically to help prevent it.
We have had an election since then and the party that asked for a majority to confirm the referendum result had it denied to them. Perhaps you would like to reinvade Suez?
If you can remember the two main parties that campaigned on respecting the Brexit result gained over 80% of the votes, enough said.
When it comes to voting many young people don't bother. In addition Corbyn has lost much of the support amongst the young he had last time round, they now realise he is full of hot air like Foot all this years ago.
Since even then people have realised that it is a silly idea, and the polls say they would reject it. Carry on living in the past if you wish, but don't try to stop the forward looking young people from having their say.
People can have their say but the decision on EU membership has already been taken and will be respected. Hopefully those MPs that lacked the respect for the will of the people will feel the wrath of the public at the election. Many have already had their careers ruined by their selfish actions, many more will bite the dust.

Labour started losing support amongst the young as far back as last year,. It did not take them long to realise Corbyn was an habitual loser.

I'm prepared to stick my neck out and say Corbyn and McDonnell will be gone within a few days of Labour's next defeat. The problem for Labour is who to replace them. Due to the purge of all non Momentum supporting MPs there is a motley crew with very little experience, charisma or appeal. Keir Starmer, the only obvious choice, has the personality of a wooden post, he is dour and hesitant.

Yougov concluded Corbyn had lost 12% support since early 2018, he has lost much more since. He's a loser.
