It is clear that Labour would try to get a deal with the EU. which is compatible with their manifesto - probably something close to the Norway model, which is a model which was proposed by several Brexiteer campaigners prior to the referendum. Having got that, they would then put it to the vote - all rather simple really. Ok. it doesn't have that black/white, swashbuckling, 'we're right you're wrong' character like the other parties - it's probably too democratic for the British electorate at this point in time. The electorate are looking for 'heroes' of one side or the other, and so, someone standing in the middle is in a dangerous place.

You see Saffy you have a choice. You can give a majority to the most right wing Tory Party of all time - and you will get something appoximating a hard Brexit (against the will of the people at the time), you will also get something close to the 'Singapore' model, a bargain basement society freed of all those nasty EU rules on workers rights and environmental protections - a kind of deregulated neo liberal hell hole which has opened its legs like a hooker for the World's predatory capital to jump in on it's own terms. You could, alternatively give the Lib Dems a majority and they would ignore the referendum result altogether and have the leave camp seething and plotting revenge. Either way, both of these would leave one half of Britain hating the other half, and possibly even split the UK entirely. Only Labour's position offers any hope of reconciliation. Whatever happens with Brexit, the British will have to live with each other afterwards.

The best option has always been for the losers to accept the democratic result of the referendum, it could not be more simpler to understand. The majority of those MPs that failed to comprehend this will now have to face the wrath of the electorate, unless they have chickened out already and run a mile.

Your problem is that you cannot accept that democracy is an ongoing thing SH.

The process of the democratic referendum decision is ongoing and will be completed very soon.

You do remember, I trust, that one nigel Farage said just before the 2016 referendum...
" If the vote is 52-48 for remaining, that won't be the end of the matter at all. Funny he didn't see it that way afterwards. Well I do.

The public will decide on the 12th December how the 2016 referendum result should be treated, it is not looking good for the anti democratic remainers.

The public will not have the chance to decide SH. An election such as this on FPTP terms cannot be treated as a sustitute for a referendum on Brexit. The only thing which you can deduce from a possible Tory majority based on about 36% of the vote is that 64% of the votes are thrown in the dustbin. The best way of actually stopping such a majority is for hard line supporters of Corbyn to vote Lib Dem in some seats, and for moderate Lib Dems to support Corbyn in others - it is so sad, and an insult to true democracy that it should be this way.

The UK are happy with FPTP, the main issue by far in this election is Brexit. The public can decide who they vote for, if the Tories receive an endorsement on their clear message then it should be respected. If Labour just happen to have a leader who is spectacularly unpopular and a confusing message on Brexit it will fail because of its own faults.

If the main issue is Brexit then it is time for you to face up to the following fact. Even judging by the polls at the momet the combined Labour, Lib Dem, Green and SNP vote stands at 51% - meaning that the majority are in favour of either a second referendum or scrapping Brexit altogether. A hard Brexit pushed through against that background, and against the will of the people will never be forgiven.

A proper Brexit, one which is being pursued by Boris, will be accepted by the UK public because that is what they voted for. The whinging losers will just have to accept they lost in a fair and open democratic process. The result of the 'Brexit' election will determine our future.

Boris Johnson meets the general public, talks about dog **** then gets encouraged to 'get Brexit done' by a racist idiot.

No wonder they're in the lead in the polls, they've combined the racist Brexit voters with the usual Tory voters.

So the polls that are repeatedly quoted on here from YouGov might not actually be accurate...

They released the 51-49 result before the head to head actually happened. I wonder why the TBC (Tory Broadcast Company) decided to quote those figures?

...and that, for all the difference it will make in the Vale of Aylesbury, is what I intend to do. Unfortunately the LD candidate will almost certainly not withdraw splitting the anti tory vote. Not sure which way I will go: Swinson is in the wrong party; Corbyn requires me to sacrifice some principles given the nature of the company he has kept and continues to keep and the fact that many of my family and friends have served in HM Armed Forces and their comrades are being hung out to dry... but ultimately I have to vote to get de pfeffel out and that is my over riding concern.

Why do you think Corbyn is against the armed forces/veterans?

Apparently there are only 3 people in 'the working class' in the UK.

    Makes sense.
