Maybe I am just cynical and perhaps a little bitter at the way he left.
Its just I'd have thought he would have been sad at missing out on potential success and if he cared so much about Saints then he would have stayed to help us achieve things like this.
And that cryptic tweet to Dejan, did they ever meet, do we know what happened, is Fonte a lumberjack?
He should have been with us last night. So sad. The 26th February could have been the crowning moment of his Saints career. Never mind.

On the other hand I would find it odd if he didn't acknowledge us after all his years here. I'm sure we will always be special to him....as Lambert said. Looking at what he posted, is he entitled to a medal (if we win)....a case of the whole team get one (though not on the day). Not begrudging him one,,,if he is entitled....rules is rules. Just asking.
See, if thats the case he's lucky I'm not in charge, I would have stripped Kante of his when he left Leicester! Harsh.....but fair.

As we are talking about Jose's possibility of a medal, here is a view from the Irish Times. They discuss it clinically as money over glory and wonder what he thought about on Wednesday night. My guess is his first thought was happiness for Saints and then a little bit of 'what might have been'. I think in the end it wasn't just about money....I think he got in a snit about something, felt hard done by and that pushed his decision towards seeking a berth elsewhere.

Also, why would Reed come out and publicly state that Fonte did something when he didn't? If it isn't true then why doesn't Fonte sue Reed over defamation of character? Seem's like Fonte's just trying to get the fans on his side before he returns on Saturday.

Mendes changed him and his mindset, from then on his future with the club was unsure.
He could have insisted not to play against us if he respected us that much, if Wet Spam wanted him that much, they would've agreed.

If he's telling the truth and I'm inclined to believe him. I'm disappointed in the club for it's actions.
