If Black Lives Matter is a political movement, why is a moderator of this board actively encouraging a debate about it, over several pages, rather than enforcing the no politics rule?

I doubt locking the topic would be popular or acceptable, plus the topic is not about politics per se.

A better question would be why people meekly accept football being used as a political football.

That would be a different question that dodges the point I’m making.

Politics is ok when it’s popular and accords with your take on politics - that appears to be rule. At least we now know.

It may appear that way to you, but you'd be wrong in that assumption.

inevitable at Millwall perhaps.

Obviously not a fan of Millwall, my gripe is with the media. If at happened at a number of places why not say so? All too easy to kick Millwall but why try to play down the fact it happened at other places too. The West Ham game was live on Sky but somehow managed not to see or hear the booing there. Sky news apparently only mentioned it hours later after other channels had pointed out it wasn't only Millwall.
Was the Millwall game on Sky? Because they were quick to not only report it but show it too.

It;s unclear to me why the poppy and Remembrance Day has recently become part of the football calendar after so many decades of it not being so.

Most of the mutilated, gassed and badly injured several decades ago, so the recent practice of incorporating into a football game in mid November is unfortunately way too late to assist them.

Don't mind if it continues as long as it doesn't become too gimmicky and tasteless.

Visit some of the dozens of WW1 cemeteries in Flanders and northern France to see how it should be done. Understated, impeccable and immaculate.

I think Millwall got the most press, as the majority of the crowd were booing, I believe the others were Colchester and West Ham, though the West Ham players are claiming they heard no booing, so presumably it was more limited there.

You mean like Jimmy Savile, or Oswald Mosley or the KKK?
His death was a result of bigoted police brutality. What's his history got to do with it?

Maybe going to deal with a 6'4 thug who had been jailed for his part in a robbery at gun point of a pregnant woman, done time as well for a robbery at knifepoint and a history of drug taking somewhat coloured their view and they were taking no chances? Maybe they though kid gloves was not the way to do it? Maybe they would have done the same with a white thug with the same background? Who knows?

Not to dismiss it out of hand completely, there was a lot of booing but i'm tempted to call it fixed. Out of all the people who were entitled or applied for a ticket ( there must have been loads ) they only selected ones who would do that. (the majority) As I posted yesterday it sounded like everyone who was booing had a microphone linked into the pa system.
Don't get to see the games live only the bits shown on the news and in non of the other games did the highlights shown sound so loud.

In West Hams ground arn't the fans further from the pitch and presumably the microphones?

West ham fans are that far away from the pitch they might as well be sat at home
