Just read his reply and immediately thought about Cream's tribute to the National Students Union as well.
More likely reminiscing about his motor (I think Bruce penned the lyrics with a little help from Eric).

On a Hull City football forum the fact that we have won three games in a week does.
Good to see you saw sense and whitewashed over your original crass response. It would have been noticed.
3 city wins in a week matter more than taking precautions against a killer virus.

It was a reference to Non-Specific Urethritis, a strain of VD Clapton had around that time and was their idea of a joke.

Norwich and Middlesbrough managed to stage games. Are you expecting the people who attended to start dropping like flies and infecting people left, right and centre?

Is the rate of infection of syphilis doubling or tripling every week?

it’s exponential maths. Even if you start from a low number, if you keep doubling or tripling every week then we’ll then be at a big number of cases soon. Look at the graphs on the bbc, the shape of the curve for hospitalisations is beginning to tick up again, like it did in Feb/March.

whether that’s enough to refuse permission for the trial at the KCOM is another debate, but if the decision was taken solely on increase in infection rate I can see why they came to that conclusion.
:emoticon-0148-yes: I hope you typed that slowly to maximise absorption :emoticon-0105-wink:

I hope they don’t.
Then again maybe their club weren’t encouraging people to name 5 other mates they wanted to sit with. Maybe they were clear you should only sit undistanced with members of your household?
Might have said this before but I think the best way forward is to check the data from the trials later in the week. Assuming there was no infection spread check what rules they had in place (or see if there was any infection that seems dependent on the individual club rules) then I’d think opening all clubs with a limited number, but tight rules to follow, would mean all clubs can get used to the rules fairly safely, and they’d get a bigger data set to check whether infection happens. (Infection between a household group would be irrelevant as it could have more likely happened at home)
Best case there is literally no infection then the rate of increase locally would be less relevant (or completely irrelevant, but I imagine they’d be concerned about travel to the game etc too)
Interesting to see results of te ones that did go ahead

That's what you get when you don't socially distance and wash the parts that have come into contact with others. Were you a superspreader whilst asymptomatic?
I was a transatlantic traveller at the time - presumably covering my tracks. The NHS was free even back then.

Some clubs have problems we don't. Despite being relegated Norwich have 22,000 season ticket holders, in fact they are al sold out which means more of a headache and more disappointed people who want to go. Someone from Norwich was on yesterday about these problems. On the other hand the chairman if .Tangmere was saying that they only had 3,000 pass holders so if they were allowed up to that many in they would not actually be making any money and no money from drinks etc. It would actually cost them money in stewards etc to open the ground on top of the other costs. Until larger numbers are allowed in and they are able to spend money in the grounds they may as well remain empty from a financial point of view.

So, whitewashing over the fact that, once again, other cities facilitate things whilst in Hull the first thought is what can we stop?
If that's actually true, who knows. Would 600 individuals improve the economy enough to offset any potential increase/accelleration of the spread ? I've no idea. Regardless of underlying tension/resentment between City Council and Hull City AFC management, erring on the side of caution may be wise. The upward trend is increasing. Look at the graphs.

Edit: The "whitewashing" comment has nothing to do with the council or City. It was totally uncalled for. I would not repeat it.

Yeah I was more talking about a gradual increase fairly quickly over a few weeks. First weeks might even cost, but help clubs get back to having fans in might be worth short term pain.

Huh?
You were talking about people apparently being told by employers to get tested so they can go back to work
I just pointed out that if that was the case then the employers haven’t read or understood what the rules are.
I know several people who have rigidly followed the rules, but that’s not relevant either. I was making the point about employers not holidaymakers

Looks like they’re going to clamp down on it...

As I said earlier pal, lighten up. I have yet to meet a Canadian with a sense of humour.
