I don't know if racism will go away.
Tearing down statues and defacing national monuments won't do it- that will only harden attitudes.
Taking a knee ever week won't change mindsets either.
If you are delivering the same message each week, people will tune out.

This should not be about QPR. Many clubs did not take the knee on the opening weekend, yet this was not reported.

That's racists' problem then, not the problem of victims of racism. Oppressed people aren't obligated to ask their oppressors and persecutors politely to stop oppressing them. They do have the obligation to fight back though.
If the issue is equality, it's possibly inappropriate to do it in an arena that bans women from participating.
That’s no doubt true, but I don’t see that as an excuse for booing it.

Do you agree with defunding the Police?
Do you agree with Closing all prisons?
Do you agree with smashing capitalism?
Those are some of the aims of BLM, and it is not possible to separate them from the initials.
I'm not sure what they have to do with football either.
I wasn't there booing it but maybe some who were there booing it wanted to express their disapproval of the politicisation of games involving their clubs.
Like 'Enough already'.
Some will think it should happen before every game, some will think it should't happen at all.
Why would anyone assume football fans all see politics exactly the same way?????
Yes and no.
In some cultures their menfolk them do it for them, often by postal vote.
I don’t associate players taking the knee in the name of equality, with what some nutters post on Twitter and neither do the football authorities, who’ve clearly stated they’re only supporting the former.
Then you are defending the wrong message.
Black lives matter is the slogan the football people are claiming to be behind, and Black Lives Matter stand for those things I listed.
You cannot simply cherry pick.
Defending equality in a game that bans women from competing seems an odd position too.

Women aren’t banned from playing football, they just complete against other women, as is the case with almost all sport.
Women are banned from playing in the professional league we are discussing.
They can claim what they like, but by using the branding they do, they are associated with that movement. It'd be naive in the extreme to believe it would be any other way.
How about another poll on those issues. Do you really think they would generate any support? The only issue relevAnt here is the question about persecution and intolerance.

I can't post it on here, as we're already stretching the politics rule to the limit, but that's unavoidable, given the authorities are, whether intentionally or through naive ignorance, supporting a political movement, but you could just educate yourself by looking for some of Kemi Badenoch's comments on this.
A lot of persecution in Muslim countries, a lot of Muslims are persecuted against in China. A lot of black people are persecuted by other black people in Africa. Yet people aren't taking the knee for them. A bit racist.
