'the Football Club' - Have they forgotten what we're called?
At last - some common sense. At least we've got a group that speaks for all the supporters and not just the vocal minority that is CTWD (now renamed, ironically!!).The vast majority of supporters are bored silly with the name change issue - supporting the team on the pitch is what's important. Let's stick to that.

Thick ****.

You don't remember waggy.

West Ham Olympians sounds fantastic and I'm sure it would generate money.

Pay attention Mr H that's a stupid name, far too long for global marketing purposes, in fact the only thing in its favour is it doesn't contain the name revilled by all the worlds leading marketing movers and shakers....CITY !!!!

Hull City's lawyers are in talks with the Football Association as the Premier League club seeks to conclude a bid to change its name to Hull Tigers.

The FA Council's decision to reject the club's initial application was set aside on Monday.

Hull were told they could bid again for a name change next season; the FA want that bid submitted before 1 April.

Hull believe their original application should be reconsidered following the findings of the arbitration panel.

The club therefore do not intend to go through the process for a second time.

In turn, the FA are adamant they have nothing to consider until a second bid is lodged and are of the belief that the arbitration panel's verdict effectively annuls the original process.

The Premier League club's legal team are now attempting to resolve the impasse after they were told they would need to re-apply in the next fortnight if they want the case to be considered for the 2015-16 season.

Hull owner Assem Allam has put the club up for sale and that will remain the case unless he is successful in his attempt to alter the club's name to Hull Tigers.

As I thought, "the club" will seek to legally challenge the requirement to submit a new application.

But that is pointless as the initial application is not a winner.

Allam knows that a fresh appplication will need to contain convincing name change arguments and a clear majority in a supporters' poll in order to stand any chance of succeeding.

Good luck with that one Doc!

Don't speak for the vast majority of supporters, Irememberwaggy as i'm sure you haven't canvassed their opinion or know them all personally. It is important to support the team on the pitch - which is what we all do, so what's your point regarding that. if you are insinuating that the anti name change lobby are disrupting performances on the pitch then you must be a total cretin. If you are perhaps trying to say that supporting the team is more important than the name change, then that's ridiculous as well because the two do not go hand in hand with each other. The team can be supported and the name change can be fought - so really you haven't anything of value to say. But thanks anyway.

It seems as though Allam is between a rock and a hard place as the Americans on here might say.

You have a point.

In all seriousness, London Olympians/Olympic could be a trick. It's that sort of catchy prestigious name that would capture the imagination of kids and the hard of thinking (plastics).

Does that mean "London Tigers" will sue us?

Their members voted against a name change.

Hatties right, you're a thick ****.

It's a sad state of affairs when getting relegated has its positives. The name change idea will disappear, and at some point Allam will too

I thought Ehab had a bit more about him but it seems he has the same opinions as his father when it comes to the name change debacle - lots of talk but no proof whatsoever as to the benefits.

On the plus side whichever way the season finishes will have a silver lining - that's my optimistic half....

I too am confused about Ehab and his thoughts/motives.If I were him my priority would be to never let papa anywhere near a television camera or anyone with a microphone in their hand because Id be worried my inheritance was dwindling with every phrase uttered

Most of the day to day decisions are being made by Ehab. Someone in authority at the club gave specific instructions for social media names to be changed to omit anything "City" related. I think Ehab is just as bloody minded as his father.

I think it's still worth making the point that if they really have found a golden goose from a name change (I don't think they hve for a minute) they're hardly going to publish it before taking first dibs and most the eggs home for themselves are they?

Who said anything about publishing it? The FA would have dealt with it confidentially like all the other submissions.
