All those 400 or so workers at FIFA who allegedly gave Blatter a 10 minute standing ovation after his resignation statement should be sacked for a start, if he has that many supporters in the headquarters there really needs to be a wholesale clearout.
If anyone could take legal action over a refereeing mistake, we'd never be out the courts, there obviously wasn't any action the ROI could realistically expect to win.
They were just compensated for that poor decision putting them out of the competition. As far as I'm aware, they haven't hidden it away in some offshore account, they just didn't announce it as they knew it wouldn't go down well with a lot of ROI fans.

Australia is being investigated about a half million or so donation which Jack Warner squirreled away. Frank Lowy, our 'Grand Poobah" here in Oz, has thrown the books wide open for the investigation and it appears the money was legitimately paid for some development of football in Africa but it wound up in Jack's personal account. All contenders for the World Cup offer some sort of incentive to any number of delegates in an effort to secure their votes but it has now got way out of hand.
Those already arrested are singing like canaries so my belief is that Blatter has seen the writing on the wall and has got out and will probably ask for asylum in some country that has no extradition agreements with anybody. Prince Leonard's "Hutt River Province" here in Australia might well reap some benefits here from these @rseholes but I am not conversant with rules, laws and regulation the 'Prince' has in place.

Even with a 'rumoured' Government intervention the AFL have clearly stated that they will NOT put their season start back in any way shape or form (should Australia win the right to hold the World Cup here) which means that the stadiums used by the AFL will NOT be made available. Look at the Australian FA Cup Soccer Final the other week when they refused to cede the Etihad Stadium to us and instead we had to use a stadium with a capacity of a mere 30000 when they could have easily sold 80,000 tickets. Etihad hosted a AFL match which drew a few thousand only.
The AFL will do absolutely nothing to further the ambitions of Soccer in Australia and will do everything they can to restrict the growth of the game.

Australia spent 42 million in an effort to win votes but we were way behind Qatar who spent 500 million to get theirs.
They were hoping to come to an arrangement with the AFL but the AFL don't give a r@ts @rse about soccer in Australia.

The only stadium the WC would be unable to use at the moment is the Etihad Stadium. Every other stadium can be used.

The idea that the AFL won't allow it is rubbish, as those two links above prove. They've agreed deals and the WC would have had plenty of stadia despite them.
FOOTBALL in Australia, Harry, is AUSTRALIAN RULES FOOTBALL - that is why Association Football is referred to as SOCCER, hence the "Socceroo's" National Team.

Soccer has grown in Australia but whereas there is support here we do not own our own stadiums and financial support could be better. Sponsorship by the Hyundai Group is to be commended but when there are players who are outstanding here they are immediately snapped up by European Clubs who offer the equivalent of a Kings Ransom in wages - Johnson, Viduka, Kewell, Bosnich and Schwartzer are a few but there are many more. This leaves us with a not much better than League 1 standard. However, the World Cup would promote the game beyond anyone's wildest expectation and there is no doubt that sponsors would come pouring in to support it. Australia has shown that they can put on a show, as the Olympic Games proved, and there would have to be major road and rail works around the major cities which is another reason why we want the World Cup.
Arms dealing is the latest news re FIFA farse. Germany allegedly sending Saudi Arabia rockets for their world cup vote. How low is this gonna go? Just shut the whole sorry arsed organisation down. Not fit for purpose. Twats.
