"All three were offsiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiide" - Saltypool fans realising that's one less bit of history they can bang on about for decades of irrelevance to come
There are some great Mouser comments on HYS. One of the best makes the point that Bale and Rush records cannot be compared because of the increased number of games they play now.......

Rush - 28 goals in 73 games (a goal every 2.6 games)
Bale - 29 goals in 69 games (a goal every 2.4 games)

Mmmmm...... now I’m not a maths genius, but........ <laugh>

Do you think it should also be pointed out that Bales career goals per game ratio is significantly lower than Rush’s. <whistle>

Not sure if it's been mentioned elsewhere, but Paul Stewart's book contains a brutal piece of irony - namely how he speaks of the time that the Manchester Boys team he was part of (that was coached by Frank Roper, the coach he accused of abusing him and many other players) once played a match against Manchester United at Old Trafford all thanks to Jim'll Fix It.

****ing hell...

I wonder if the two sick ****ers knew each other? Roper knew Bennell.

Shame. You should feel sorry for afflicted Mousers.

Talking about that.Could anyone tell me what exactly happened with Ken Dodd and the tax people.....if anything!

Didn't he leave under a cloud........a little similar to Rose?

Not quite. He was persecuted relentlessly by micro-manager AVB due to various minor disciplinary infringements; chief of which was Benny refusing to travel from his home (he lived 15 minutes' walk from WHL) to a hotel in West London to then drive back to WHL together with the rest of the squad. One look at that rule tells you everything you need to know about AVB and logical tactics. The irony is that Benny getting frozen out paved the way for Rose to establish himself in 2013-14 and then really make the position his own the following year.

The only thing he has in common with Rose is that both players are fond of speaking their minds. The connection being when Benny speaks his mind it tends to be about how modern footballers are pretentious, deluded self-absorbed arseholes, and when Rose speaks his mind he tends to provide concrete evidence for this theory.

Not that sort of cloud..... As CK explains perfectly.
If more ‘professional’ footballers conducted themselves with the same intelligence, social awareness and responsibility off the pitch, then the game would be in a far healthier place.
Benny was castigated and almost ridiculed (even by some Spurs fans) for his views and lifestyle choices. He was also the target of backstabbing sniping from the aforementioned DoF - Something I will personally not forgive him for.

Not quite. He was persecuted relentlessly by micro-manager AVB due to various minor disciplinary infringements;

Which were (allegedly) at the worst of it, playing a "fines"
game with Adebayor (to see who could do what on that
front to get fined by the club) , with one instance being
late for squad training and allegedly claiming they got
the time wrong because they misunderstood the english
of one of AVBs' coaching staff.

No "one law for me, and another for others" .

I have been in the same situation, and you bite
your lip even if you don't like it.

Well the good news is that Glenn Hoddle isn't trending on Twitter for the usual reason names randomly trend on Twitter

He always used to let his feet do the talking.
Now that’s what I called entertainment.
