We often chat about ex spurs players so thought that we should have a thread specifically for them. I will kick it off with; A) Thanks to Defoe for not breaking our hearts v Sunderland yesterday B) Well done Gomes, Kaboul and Capoue for breaking gooner hearts last night C) Well done Peter Crouch...100th prem goal tonight And most importantly D) Really pleased Ryan Mason is on the mend Coys
On a less positive note, the decline of Jamie O'Hara. Now a waste of space as a footballer and a waste of space as a bloke.
He hasn't retired, he's without a club because he couldn't be arsed to get fit when Gillingham gave him a chance. So he has now gone on Celebrity Big Brother and says he's fallen in love with Gazza's daughter. Since then he got booted out of the house and is filming himself gyrating with strippers in a strip club.
Wow...not really anything you can do to make that sound less sleazy and tacky really is there? He Showed so much promise at one point. Remember seeing us being 1 nil down at ht v Burnley in a league cup semi final at the lane in 2009. He came on at ht and single handedly upped the tempo and drove us on to a 4-1 win. When he left us I thought he'd have a decent career
To be more positive, it's always good to see ex-Spurs making a decent career in the game. Obvious examples are Gomes, the Hull boys, but lesser known names are Jonnie Jackson, David Button, Mark Yeats, Charlie Lee etc, plus guys like Chris Hughton and Justin Edinburgh having reasonable success as managers. COYS
And Charlie Daniels and Adam Smith helping Bournemouth become a fixture in the PL. P.S. Let's hope Ryan Fredericks doesn't knock us out the cup.
Swansea bTC: 4 wins 3 draws 16 losses Swansea post Tom Carroll: 2 wins 0 draws 0 losses. Carroll 1 assist and 2 passes before the assist. IIRCACS (if I remember correctly and can subtract)
The Millwall v Watford game had 2 ex spurs keepers on display - Gomes and Jordan Archer. Both looked very assured.
O'Hara in comparison: At Spurs: 57 club games. 7 goals. 4 assists. After Spurs: 400 Blue WKDs. 200 Jager bombs. 120 cheeky tequilas.
This thread could run and run... ex-Spurs' players are everywhere! Can you name the ex player whose one PL goal for Spurs came in January 2004 and is now playing in India?
Lots of players have only scored one for us from this period - Erik Edman (but what a goal), Ziegler, Pamarot, Andy Reid (surprisingly), Ricketts, Robbo. None of them play in India
Ricketts played one game for a Bangladeshi side and scored, before joining Leatherhead. He also scored one league goal for us, but that was against Villa in November 2003. He's just a bit off on everything!
