He's the honorary president of a supporters group based in Virginia (even though he lives in Canada...) and he turns out in a few Legends games when he's in the UK.
I know that Anderton's supposedly a bit of a twat, but I'll never understand how his injury prone reputation got as bad as it has. He played nearly 600 senior games, including 358 for us over the course of 12 years, with virtually no European football. He had a few bad years, but he doesn't compare with Andy Carroll or Daniel Sturridge, to name but two.
Compared to 'Seasoned International' Jack Wheelchair, it's laughable. At the ripe old age of 26, and 9 seasons already under his belt, he has played just 162 league games (including his loan at Bolton)...… with a mighty return of 8 goals. About 18 games a season..... less than half possible. Anderton, I believe, made 289 (not sure if that includes sub appearances or not) league appearances just for us in 12 seasons and scored 34 goals. On average 24 games a season..... not bad for a sicknote.
Gareth Bale's Champions League Final goal has NOT been nominated for goal of the season. That's ****ing ridiculous.
Have you seen the other nominees?????? https://t.co/6E1lrfGW00?amp=1 Eriksen is in there and a decent goal by Payet, but the rest are an odd collection of Ladies and 5 a sides!! Bizarre!!
It's one goal per competition or something. Futsal and Ladies U17s? Great... Bale's over Ronaldo's anyway, for me.
