Lovely article from a couple of years ago, worth a read today of all days, I think https://www.scotsman.com/sport/foot...-ending-his-30-year-spurs-exile-1-4044198/amp
Setting aside his brilliance on the pitch, my recollection of Gilly will always be his comment after the home leg of the Chelsea League Cup semi-final as reported by Hunter Davies in The Glory Game. Gilly's comment wasn't about the players, it was about the fans........."There'll be some spewing up on Tottenham High Road tonight" he said. That always stuck with me. Why did the fans love him so? Because he was Spurs and he showed it and he loved us. RIP to a Spurs legend.
Just heard the news, very sad a great player for spurs and one of my favourite in my 50 years of supporting spurs .best header of a ball I have ever seen scored some cracking goals a true spurs legend R.I.P.
So if hacks keep parroting how Barca see Eriksen as an Iniesta replacement (rather than, say, Coutinho...) does that mean we're now due weeks of articles suggesting Sissoko is their Paulinho replacement?
One of the true greats and one of my favourite players. He could head a ball as if his head was a hand he had so much control. Thanks for some magic moments.
