Assuming that all will soon be done and dusted, when Ron comes to visit, next season, I would really like to see a change of approach from the fans. No booing. No nasty songs. No whistling, cat calling or rude gestures. Let's be more classy than that. What I would like to see is, as soon as Ron steps out of the tunnel, is for ALL the Saints fans to just turn around and face the back of the stand, in absolute silence. The visual effect for the tv cameras would be amazing, IMHO, and would potentially be shown throughout Europe. Treat him with indifference, and just for extra effect, do it when he comes out again for the second half.
Auntie Les might just surprise us once again. I'd love it if Kat had a rage on, thought '**** you' and weirded her mighty purse just to make a point. (she won't, but y'know).
Please no booing. No point. It's the equivalent of booing DTLW for working at Arsenal. It's a career for the people that work in it. It's a passion for the fans. Ronald is a Barca fan, that's his passion. Management is his job (that he loves). DTLW is a Saints fan, that's his passion. Writing is his job (that he loves). He could become Arsenal's best ever media rep, widely loved by everyone there, and he'll think "hey, I could, and would like to stay here forever". Then City come along offering him double his salary and the prospect of being chief media man of the Europe. Tell you what. DTLW is off on that train too.
It will be far better to make sure we finish above them in the league - that will give me far greater satisfaction and total smugness.
I can't be bothered with the whole hate thing anymore. Player/manager turnover is so high these days it's just easier to not get attatched n enjoy the footy. I'll save the 'hate' for when we finally play the blue few again
I love the way our club is run - there appears to be an ethical code about how we operate, both on financial and strategic levels. Long may it continue, as it is really the best selling point clubs of our size have. I am proud to be a Saints fan and this is because of the way we operate more so than what we have achieved by doing so.
How has avb gone in straight at 6/1 we have no links with him what so ever , football is weird sometimes , so very weird .
One thing. After all this is over, and the let's say that Koeman cuts and runs, I want to write a letter to Southampton FC to request [but actually demand] that this is the final time we are ****ed over by another manager who wants to move on because... it's a big step up [like **** is it, it's minor at best at the present time], or it's a new challenge [how about finishing what you started mate?], or any number of excuses that are less and less plausible, when there's a Europa League dangling there to be managed, a very strong squad, an accommodating boardroom and an ultra-loyal fanbase who would forgive anything other than what the manager actually ends up doing. I don't know about you lot, but I've had enough of this stuff, season after bloody season.
I accept that greed is now part of football, but going back on your word is still worth some hatred. He's a total snake. Same as lallana. This whole thing actually makes Pochettino look a lot better though.
Meh, the bar staff might change, but its still your local. Just have a pint TSS, metaphorically speaking.
