I thought he signed for Newcastle

I wouldn't be disappointed, but he does not get the blood pumping

I wonder what the players think of all this, especially those who have signed new long term deals.

He has. You may as well ask "am I the only one who would take Pochettino".

I would take Rafa in a heartbeat and laugh about it too. Probably about time I resigned as a moderator and went on the Toon board to torment them**. ;)

    **Not my style.!

What a sad day. I'm not too concerned about the future for Saints; we've recovered from every setback we've had so far, and then gone on. But I thought Ron was a better man than he's shown himself to be. Shame.

Well he was down for SKD testimonial.... Oooh start a rumour.

I'd take him, even if he is a lying twat with no plan B

A few PL medals and FA Cups and I'll think about it.

    You don't think so?

Might be wrong but if we made him a target and offered it to him I reckon he'd be tempted to drop the championship for European football.

Not that much I'd imagine. The players would have signed long term because of the club and it's ambitions, not the manager.

Not sure on Rowett, I do really rate him but I think we are at a point now where we are a really attractive option unlike ever before.

Someone said on here before that Koeman gave us a little bit of stature and I agree and think it will help with recruitment to try and stay with that trend.

    Fair enough.

Who would be your choice? I think there's quite a few candidates really.

Would love Emery, but it's probably unrealistic. Would be intrigued with AVB. Okay with Howe.

Agree with all of that really!

Emery has to be first choice, as you say probably unrealistic but don't ask you don't get.

For me: Roger Schmidt, Eddie Howe, Andre Villas Boas. Not in that order necessarily, but one of those three I'll be more then happy with.

Schmidt took a job today in Germany. Augsburg I think.

Mine must have been Mary Poppins, because she was supposed to have been practically perfect in every way.!
