You go to a business and you enjoy it there, but have no particular emotional connection, then someone else comes and offers you between 4.5 and 5m more than you're on/being offered by your current business.

Chances are you're going to take it.

Yeah, and now our wishlist of managers on this forum includes quite a few who are already gainfully employed, heh. Such is the nature of the business.

If it means anything to you, the guy that wrote the Mirror article was also the guy who broke the sacking of Martinez on the morning it happened. I think he's close with Kenwright

No, we don't have a car that can go 500mph because it doesn't have enough petrol. It can only travel at 80mph in a sustainable manner.

Moshiri is bringing in a DoF and Monchi is his choice, hopefully he can conclude that deal, as it'd be a real coup and over time arguably a more important signing than the manager himself..

That was my first reaction too, closely followed by "let's do all we can to keep Watson and Lee, whoever should come in next".

Closely followed by, we could come out alright from this.

I don't blame him, any news on alternatives if you can't get Monchi? I know he has a buy out clause you're willing to meet, just not heard anything about whether he's interested or not.

The club has absorbed bigger hits and look where we are. There's absolutely no need to panic.

I'm quite excited. From a managerial perspective, I was far more gutted to lose Poch. Ron's done a cracking job for us, but I do think there's better.

I'm pretty excited to see who we'll go for, to be honest. There's quite a few managers who I'd be very pleased with, some who I would have preferred over RK when we were looking to replace MP.

I just remembered that Leicester had a great run at the end of last season. They continued it into the start of this season. They must have had the same manager right? Oh wait, they didn't. As long as we get the right replacement in and we don't sell a **** load of our players (which I don't think will happen) we can still improve.

He's been talking to us, so there's interest, but so was Emery and that didn't come off, so who knows mate.

Overmars was linked before Monchi became available

I was told that by Dutch friends too. He did do alright by us though in that regard. By "He" I mean the committee/black box/him

Why did Van Dijk and Forster sign long term deals then?

I'll be disillusioned for a few days, then I'll be excited to see the list of names for the vacancy. Trust in Les Reed, his record of finding managers is second to none.

Top 6 club, European league, plenty to spend (though you don't seem to be happy unless Kat bankrupts herself).

Plenty of very good managers and players.

No didn't he resign at the end of the season, and was therefore without a club. unless we tapped him up waiting for MP to make his mind up - can't see that myself
