its funny because i was in the west stand and although i felt it wasnt full i neve thought the atmosphere was amazing and the attendence wasnt that bad
It's good to see that many of the Everton fans are pretty much full of themselves and seem to be expecting an easy victory..It will make it all the sweeter should we win..
Our defence coped with Van Persie, they coped with the multi-million pound Man City forwards and midfield and in fact they have coped with every single teams attack one after another and that includes during Bruce's start to the season and we have only lost by the odd goal here and there. In short, I am not worried about a player whose name I cannot even pronounce. Whatever happens, it should be a cracking game.
I reckon that the 1st 20 minutes of the game will be absolutely crucial, I think MON may well play the same formation as he did against Arsenal and try to hit Everton on the break, if Everton score early and then shut up shop that may make it difficult. I think it is an absolutely intriguing match up that will be extremely close - funnily enough I think being drawn away may justy give us the edge as it will suit out ability to hit on the break - hoodoos are there to be broken!
Pretty much spot on, to my mind. Only thing I would say is that if we did go behind, I would have a little bit more confidence in O'Neill having a Plan B.
I think Neville could be in for a torrid time on their right side...itll be a true test for JMclean tho hes a good pro...hope he can really stretch him and make gaps for Sess and Ricco to break...
They have won 5 and lost 5 games at home this season in the premier league. It's very clear to see the renewed spirit within our squad by looking at the Man City and Arsenal results as leading examples and the lads will be fighting tooth and nail for 90 minutes. We play an exciteing counter-attacking formation, are good in possesion and therefore we play a style that not only adapts, but excels playing away from home. It's a great opportunity to progress in my opinion and we have absolutely nothing to fear. It's such a good feeling to have the excitement flowing through our club once again.
I can only see an Everton win. They're on the up at present, no defeats in the last 5. Doing their usual thing of a late surge for 7th place. Obviously that little run of form also includes home victories over Chelsea and Man City, which suggests they are even better in the big home games (they normally give Man U a torrid time when they go there too). I'd probably still rate their squad as better than yours but Sunderland are masking any defiencies at present with confidence. Whether that can get you through an away cup tie against a confident and charged Everton side at Goodison, I'm not convinced.
Two well-matched teams on the up so it could be a memorable classic. I thought Man C and then Arsenal would be our acid tests and we have passed both. Memories of Man C in 73 - draw is an option in our favour.
Don't we (Everton) have the 4th best defence in the league statistically? and at 88 - Everton have allowed their opponents fewer shots on target than any other Premier League club. I'd be surprised if any team scored more than once against us at the moment.(Though that could be enough, though i'd be surprised if we didn't score)
