I think some people are being a touch harsh on MR White who has used these boards for years going back to when it was part of the BBC website. I can see arguments from both sides, I really can. As football is a business you have to compare yourself and maybe I shouldn't but I can't help but compare to Newcastle. I know we are in a very tough economical climate and believe me I am feeling the pinch and am not a wealthy person at all, probably below the average but if Newcastle can still continue to fill their ground then why can't we? I am also pretty sure they would have more or less been a sell out yesterday as much as it pains me to say that. I cannot accept that Newcastle supporters are more financially well off then Sunderland supporters yet always show out in their support. I am not looking to upset anybody and would appreciate constructive feedback <ok>

Therein lies the real problem for us Sunderland fans...Newcastle.
Everything we do if it isn't as good as them, isn't good enough for some who blatantly disregard the fact we have a support that has out performed the team for decades.
It grips my **** that self righteous arse holes who are fortunate enough to be able to get to games suggest MON will **** off because of people who either can't or choose not to go.
I had a season ticket for fifteen years solid. Cause I could. These days I can't. Any ****er who thinks that makes me less of a fan can ****ing rot.

Bloody typical internet warrior with personal insults eh...Stop been so bloody silly lad.
The truth is that I have every sympathy for people who can't get to games for financial or geographical reasons. However, the fact is that many thousands who could afford to go to this game just chose to watch it on the box instead..
Is that there free choice to do that? Yes of course it is..Are these stay aways damaging the reputation of our club and hindering our chances of sustained success? The answers is yes again... Am I allowed to criticise those who I believe are hindering the chances of sustained success? damn right I am..

Everton away....the one i wanted to avoid..........but..

This is a new era....we have tp beat them sometime to win it....

Not forgetting, we just put Arsenal out....so no reason why we can't progress further.

I was there when we beat them 3-1 at Roker Park in the 5th round, I think it was in 1963 or 64, maybe one of you computer whizz kids can tell me.
I see no reason why we can't do it again with this team anything is possible.

Damaging our reputation! In what way?
God, the six clubs in England with better attendances must be laughing their respective tits off at us. Incidentally of those six I can only think of one who have had to wait longer than us for a trophy. We all know who they are don't we.
Tell me MrRAWhite. When was the last time our players last lived up to the level of support they get?
Internet warrior...Nah mate. I just get sick of you saying the same thing over and over or every thread no matter what the subject.
Your patter stinks. IMO.

Eh...Now!....It is my opinion that 23,000 empty seats for such a massive game is an embarrassment to our club and history, and has rightfully gave our rivals ammunition to shoot us down...If you don't like that view then that it is your prerogative, but I will still express my opinions regardless if you think my patter stinks or not..

It's a shame folk didn't turn out in force but it's not an embarrassment.
Very very few clubs could of filled a 49000 seater stadium at tea time on a Saturday, live on ITV in a competition that is unfortunately past it's best. Very few.

Let's just say we are not going to agree over this issue and have done with it eh...:emoticon-0148-yes:

You would think the draw was fixed !, all the top teams drawn at home, Spurs get another jammy draw, Everton drawn the 4th time at home!, none of the top teams drew each other odds of 1000/1 to me, very fishy. And by the way i thought i was at the Boro's ground on sat night!.

Sunderland are playing well and confidence is high. Everton are on a decent run at the moment as well and have home advantage.

Both teams will think they can win this one, it really does depend what happens on the day.

I was devastated that it was the tea time kick off - I really couldn't afford to go but was going to sacrifice my beer this weekend to pay for the ticket - but I work every saturday night and have to be at my gig (I'm a singer) for 7pm at the latest - so there was no way I could go - devastated but impossible for me to get there.

If people have a genuine reason not to go (I.e. working commitments etc) then great - but if they simply don't go because it's on the TV then shame on them as they are damaging our club

You just wonder if SNQ has taken the lack of tangible support e.g bums on seats, as a lack of support for himself and decided enough is enough and walked.

That was my initial thought, but when you read his farewell remarks, I genuinely think he just wants to spend more time with his family...I'm sure we will see him again...Hopefully among us at the cup final eh!!!

Oh great under Bruce it was the fans fault we were losing, now it's the fans fault Quinn is leaving, a year after the 5 he said he was here for.

I agree with Mr White!

Hi guys,

For the record we definitely have Royston Drenthe available for the tie.
I think it could go either way to be honest both teams are in unbelievable form and think they can beat each other. We haven't lost in our last 7 games, winning including wins against Man City and Chelsea and obviously your lot have been rejuvenated by MON
my preference in terms of draw (from most wanted to least wanted) and assuming favourites advance was...

Leicester
Bolton
Stoke
Chelsea/Sunderland pretty much level
Liverpool
Tottenham

so seeing as we're at home I think that will give us a big advantage and fancy our chances. Plus I doubt your defnce (or any) will be able to cope with Straqualursi!

Whatever the result it should be a cracker between two good teams.

As long as our defenders aren't expected to pronounce it, they should cope fine. <ok>
