We can beat these boys, they got lucky with the penalty at the SoL- lets settle the score.................................................bring it on.

Bloody hell mate you can't force people to go so there's little point banging on about the same thing in every post.
So you've got the money and time to attend games...Good for you. If only everyone was so well off we'd all be laughing.

My point is that when MON pisses off because of the lack of support and the transfer funds dry up because of lack of investment due to the apathy of our supporters, then people will be wondering why...

Oh please. It's Football man not the end of the World.
People have to juggle all sorts of things these days to get by. Unfortunately Football is a luxury and luxury's are always the first things to go.
I'm sure there's not a Mackem in the world would rather pay a gas bill for example than go to a game. Trouble is, you have to pay your bills.

I agree with that, in the best league & cup run for years & half the ground was empty against Arsenal

Why havnt they got Royston Drenthe? He played yesterday and scored against Blackpool, so cant see how he can be cup tied.

Easy way to find out if it's apathy keeping people away.
Make the next home cup game a freebie...How many people do you think would turn up? 49000 maybe?
It's got naff all to do with apathy. It's all time and more importantly, money.
Like someone pointed out earlier we are the seventh best supported team in England. Not bad for a club that's achieved zip in decades with hordes of "apathetic" fans to deal with.

Goodness me... How do you know that Martin O'Neill intends to 'piss off' due to a lack of funds? When he took the job at Sunderland he said he was happy with the squad... The money we earned yesterday was a bonus because we managed to make the 5th round of the cup... Our average for the premier league is close to 40k... so the fans are still turning out in healthy numbers for our bread and butter campaign.

The club need to look hard at the pricing for next season... The strategy of hoping that the fans wil pay the current price isn't working so why not drop the prices by 20% and fill up the stadium? Dropping the price will encourage more people to attend and therefore we will gain the same income we do today with one subtle difference, we will have close to or a full stadium.

What is best for the club 39,000 supporters paying £400 or a packed stadium of 49,000 supporters paying £320? The more season tickets that sell the bigger the avergage crowd and then the club won't have to offer the £10 ticket (which annoys the fans who pay up for the season ticket in pre-season) because more fans will be prepaired to buy in at standard matchday price.

We need to reduce the prices and get everybody who can afford to attend back onboard. For many families on the minimum wage the difference between £400 and £320 represents a big difference...

Precisely...

This run against everton has to end sometime, and there wouldn't be a better time to do it than this fixture.
