I don't know but we did give you Richard Garcia some time ago but you wouldn't take Harry Kewell AND we supplied your singer in 1996 who had the Number One record in the UK for a few weeks.
I wouldn't laugh - we are famous for "Doing the Bradbury" watch if you dare:

Very good but I doubt even Bradbury was 5,000 to 1 before the race.

Here's a classic example of sub Abba/Eurovision lyrical genius from Dutch group Teach In! (1975 Winner). They even borrowed a little section of the Grandstand riff...singalong and brighten your day boys and girls - you know you really want to!! I have supplied the lyrics...no need to thank me!

Ding A Dong

When you're feeling alright
Everything is uptight
Try to sing a song that goes ding, dinge-dong

There will be no sorrow
When you sing tomorrow
And you walk along with your ding-dang-dong

Dinge-dong, every hour when you pick a flower
Even when your lover is gone, gone, gone
Dinge-dong, listen to it, maybe it's a big hit
Even when your lover is gone, gone, gone
Sing ding-ding-dong

When you're feeling alright
Everything is uptight
Try to sing a song that goes ding, dinge-dong

And the world looks sunny
Everyone is funny
When they sing a song that goes ding-ding-dong

Dinge-dong, every hour when you pick a flower
Even when your lover is gone, gone, gone
Dinge-dong, listen to it, maybe it's a big hit
Even when your lover is gone, gone, gone
Sing ding-ding-dong

(Ding-dang-dong, dinge-dang-dong)
When you think it's all over they let you down
Dry your tears and forget all your sorrow
Try to smile when you'll say goodbye (Ding-dong, ding-dong)

Ding-dang-dong, when you wake up tomorrow
When the sun is up in the sky

When you're feeling alright
Everything is uptight
Try to sing a song that goes ding, dinge-dong

There will be no sorrow
When you sing tomorrow
And you walk along with your ding-dang-dong

Dinge-dong, every hour when you pick a flower
Even when your lover is gone, gone, gone
Dinge-dong, listen to it, maybe it's a big hit
Even when your lover is gone, gone, gone

You know what they say: You've got to be in it to win it! <laugh>

It's on this weekend, personally I can't stand it, but each to their own.

I wasn't aware of this before, but it seems the first ever Eurovision was in 1957 and Britain's entry was Patrica Bredin from Hull...

it appears she was born in wales, so perhaps moved to hull very young. her parents married in or around fylde. north ferriby united play fylde in their play-off final. it's all holistic.

The lass didn't have much luck in love. She married Welsh singer/actor Ivor Emmanuel but divorced after 2 years. There were no children. She married again but her husband died on their honeymoon (?).
The UK have had some 'Welsh Connections' in Eurovision. I haven't been through them all but I know that Englebert's Dad was Welsh and so was Bonnie Tyler. Both Englebert and Sir Cliff were born in India.

Outmoded, should have been ditched years ago, it was OK for the less sophisticated tastes of 50 years ago when Sandie Shaw won it. Having said that what a pile of sh--- people watch today with the never ending procession of soaps, talent? contests and reality programmes. TV out, (apart from football).

To be honest i didn't even think it was still on the go.

Bit of a weird story on her wiki page - On her second marriage, she married the Canadian businessman Charles MacCulloch and became Patricia Bredin-McCulloch, but he died on their honeymoon.

Edit: Roo beat me to it.

Last year Australia received an 'invitation' to perform - they didn't have to qualify.
The reception was so good that they were invited to 'contest' this year so we have to qualify in the second semi-final.

I expect most window dressers and ex-window dressers are just as excited by Eurovision as you appear to be TigerRoo. :emoticon-0100-smile

They ought to do it again changing the words to "Dilly ding Dilly dong" in celebration of Lesta winning the EPL.
