Some of you need to google Eurovision.
It doesn't mean Europe only.
It was/is a broadcasting organisation.

All of the North African and middle East countries are eligible to take part in the Eurovision Song Contest, but boycott it due to Israel's participation.

Two of the founding members in 1950 weren't European (Tunisia and Lebanon), I think the French colonial ties brought them in then.
 
What is even the point in Eurovision? Some camp 'fun' followed by a popularity contest that's a vote to nothing... nothing gained, nothing earned... utter waste of time having it let alone taking part.
