This trend seems to have started, or at least increased, since Brexit.

We're becoming 'little islanders' again with an 'everyone's against us' mentality.

And the amount of decent envoys who could previously travel easily to work, study and live in Europe, has diminished.

The worse we become the worse reaction we'll get in return, then we'll blame Europe as we always seem to.

England fans behaviour across Europe has been worse than dreadful for decades......this is just the latest manifestation of it.....nothing to do with Brexit.

100% mate. Cant believe some of the daft comments on here. It is mind boggling.

Anyway, head still pounding after last night. Out with some lads desperate for England to do well. Had a great night tbh. A lot like being with Sunderland in the away end, when we dont play well, but we still believe. Turns out one of the lads is off out for the weekend with spares due to a couple dropping out. So yours truly is off out Saturday :1980_boogie_down::1980_boogie_down: and hoping it is the Dutch, will be a belting atmosphere. If we win, every chance I might just stay on...

Haway England, competition starts now. Job done so far, now we find out who the real elite sides are. I still believe we can win it, pointless feeling otherwise unless you enjoy wallowing.
You lucky sod <cheers>

Enjoy your trip and looking forward to hearing about your experience :emoticon-0148-yes:

My head is still throbbing off last night. Bloody England

Agree, but in my opinion morals and rule breaking have all gone backwards since Boris.
Got to wedge those politics in every thread somewhere.
Apologies, just how I'm seeing things in these past few years.

The vast majority of England supporters who travel to watch the team progress through major tournaments, go for the craic, and to thoroughly enjoy themselves. They respect the natives and blend in to put the natives at ease.

However, we do have a bad reputation because of those who travel to fight.

In all the years that I've watched our National team play, I think that we are the only team in history to -

A/ Boo every opposing team's National Anthems, AND,
B/ Boo our own team after they still finished top of their qualifying group.

That upsets me !

Even before a ball is kicked???

Sad to hear what you are saying marra, another case of the minority spoiling it for the majority.

I think that's likely Covid related rather than Boris. There was a real breaking of the social fabric felt across the globe.

Not to say Boris wasn't an aggrevator of said breaking but I think it's a bigger problem than one seedy man.

Good point, didn't take the wider view into account :emoticon-0148-yes:

I hope Foden's personal issue isn't too serious.

But I also hope it keeps him back home for a fortnight.
Why? Hes a world class player, who has been arguably Englands best attacking player the last 2 games

Yes he hasnt played as well as he does for city but you want as many match winners in a squad to stand any chance to win big comps - foden is a match winner who has done it in some massive games in his career

He should be playing AM or RM as thatll get the best out of him

Brexit being blamed for England fans being **** now which they always have been.

It’s hasn’t half left scars on certain people. It’s an unhealthy obsession <laugh>

It should be him or Bellingham for one spot and we're leaving ourselves short by shoehorning him in somewhere he's not effective.

Plus he's never done anything for England. Let's not look a gift horse in the mouth.

You might be right mate.

I was at the France and Germany WC's and some of the England supporters were just rotten.

But, having lived in France, we definitely noticed a change in attitudes after Brexit.

I don't think it's too easy to judge whether you live there or not, everyone's experience is different.

Anyway, matches are about to start so it's time to see what Mr Bosch has in store for me <cheers>

If you have a world class player like him you fit him into the system to get the best out of him

He can play RM or bellingham can play deeper

The boy is class and walks into every international team

England are too slow and safe which doesnt play into his strengths, foden plays the game at a high tempo - the issue is england dont play to that

Foden won player of the yr last yr, and deservely so - england need him to win the euros imo
