Good start from Watkins. I like Bowen as a player but dunno if he has that lightening pace to hurt these, would have preferred Gordon on if I’m honest. What’s the problem with palmer?

Bowen is rapid to be fair, I think having lightning pace in a game where the opponents are playing so deep is a waste though. This is my only issue with Gordon I think he’ll play well against teams who want to come and play but be ineffective against teams who play a deep back 5

What isnt normal? Turning them round. We nearly always do with Saka and even Bellingham. They havent played well tonight. Southgate tries others to do it. The only tactical change is how Watkins plays. As a fan I would be tempted to play him, as a head coach - you are damned if you do or dont, like Franke said.

Why. Be brave or go home. I am sick of Southgate and this level of performance. It's poor, slow and predictable. Hanging on against Denmark.

Even Rice has been awful today. I know Southgate will get stick and rightly so, but World Class players should be able to do basics no matter what. Kane, Bellingham, Rice and Saka all poor. Stones and Walker too considering what I'd expect of them.
