This is how it should be in all leagues, if the authorities really wanted to stamp out descent it would have been brought in years ago.

I'm tempering my expectations for England at the start of this tournament. They idea that we're favourites is a bit mad if you look at it objectively.
Of course we have great attacking talent, but we're going into the tournament with a lot of questions defensively.
Of the consistent back 4 which is one of the most impressive statistically in the world, 1 is not in the squad through injury and 2 are both doubts (1 having missed half of the season). Then there's the absence of a regular presence alongside Rice. It's almost certain that our defensive minded players have never played together and that will inevitably cause problems.
We're still very strong of course, but I don't see how anyone can look at France and even Portugal and conclude we're a stronger team.

Update - they're walking about with a cardboard cutout of Maradona, which has made them very popular, as you can imagine.

Always enjoy the summer tournaments but used to love them when we were in the prem. Use to see obscure players you never really heard of have great summers and I'd hope we'd end up signing them. Most notable was Gyan, unreal in the WC 2010 and couldnt believe it when we broke our record to get him. Short made so many mistakes but those first few years when he was throwing money at it were so exciting man.
