Croatia got dumped out last night. Have to say I'm suprised that they didnt beat Portugal. They were one of the best teams in the tournament, unfortunately they looked quite poor lastnight.
I had Croatia down as one of my dark horses and I've been really impressed with them so far, but I'm so glad I didn't watch the game last night as it sounded awful. Surprised Portugal beat them (and that Portugal are so awful this tournament as well).
WALES are in the Quarters mutherfuckers! See who we get tonight, but we've already beaten and drawn against Belgium so we at least got a chance against them and Hungary will be interesting, tough but interesting. Bring it!
France looking quite ominous. They have lot of match winners in that side even if they arnt quite as strong as the likes of Germany.
Ozil has been absolutely Top class too far in this tournament.(penalty miss or not) Also Mario Gomez has still got it. This is a striker who has constantly been under-rated throughout his career. The guy has maintained a better than 1 in 2 record for his whole career. Germany are clearly looking like the best side in this competition.
They are the best team overall but Belgium looked very good lastnight. Although at times they look individualistic and lack team camaraderie and cohesion, there is no missing their huge individual quality. On their day they should be able to beat anyone, but it depends on which Belgium turns up. They seem to be hitting form and Hazard is looking more and more dangerous as they progress. Unfortunately Wales have to meet them next round and anything less than a near perfect performance will see them spanked.
I probably would have gone for Italy if Marchisio had been fit but I can see Germany winning it from here. Belgium have probably the easiest route to the final in history though (no offence to Wales)
Belgium is still a liability for me. As a team, they have the wrong mentality. Don't work for each other, get pissed off easily and regularly sulk. Brilliant individual players but a real team like Germany will always beat them. Lucky that they have the easier group and missing teams like Spain and Italy. I would have even fancied Croatia beating them. I do hope they implode against Wales and lose, but it might be a step too far for the Cymru dragons. Let's hope it isn't
The team is soo weak though. It amazes me they still look good. First choice striker for example can barely even get a start at Southampton.
I've still got hope as we've beaten them and drawn with them in qualifying, so we know we can get a result against them, and they've looked disjointed for the majority of games so far. But it's annoying and worrying that they hit form in last nights game, just when we didn't want them to!
Sterling getting a starting place again.. How bad does he need to play to actually be dropped? Now I've said that he'll have a worldie
I think the problem is that he's the only vaguely wide player you have in the squad, all the rest keep cutting in and congesting the central areas.
