I don't disagree with a word of that, which is why it a pity that so much emphasis is still put on immigration.

The economic downturn was predicted and expected; many consider it an inevitable price of the change they were asked to decide upon.

What I think should be added is that, eventually, something new will evolve for Europe, economies will rationalise the change and recover, whilst opportunities for wider growth and collaboration will prosper - it's what happens.

Change brings challenge, some embrace it and get on with it, others get left behind. The U.K. will not be left behind.

The economic downturn, which was inevitable after a leave vote, could and should have been presented far more coherently. Those who feel that it's just a City problem, don't get it at all.

We have no idea how Europe will evolve or even devolve.

I think that had the economic consequences of voting to leave been better explained, how it would effect everybody in the country, we may have seen a different result.

As I think has been discussed, the remain campaign must carry the blame for that.

Can you honestly not see the use of xenophobic, racist terminologies to highlight the bigotted view of those they're aimed at? The Comic Strip Presents Five Go Mad in Dorset used references to "gollywogs" and "darkies" to highlight racism by aiming it directly at those who used such outdated remarks. Stephen K Amos and Lenny Henry both use the words "coon" in their acts to paraphrase people they've come across who still use that terminology and hold on to those out of date views. Unless you're honestly suggesting they're all racist for doing so. It's fairly obvious that EVERY remark used by the likes of @Just Stan and @Tobes and myself have done just that to highlight the same bigotry in people like @petersaxton . The fact the sarcasm and humour in doing so, is beyond you, is neither here nor there. It's fairly obvious to anyone why it's being used to mock others' backward "Love Thy Neighbour" thinking... and to be honest I think you know full well too but are pretending to plead ignorance.

Where I think you have an argument is in saying such jokes are being used to all Brexit ppl shouldn't have that type of humour aimed at them in order to portray them all as racist or xenophobic. I think there are many that doesn't apply to, but for @petersaxton based on his comments on this thread it absolutely does. Where you let yourselves down is in coming to his defence over his bigotry simply because he happened to vote the same way as you. Ironically, all you're doing is confounding the misconception that you're all bigots which clearly you're not.
You always seem to make comments without any basis in fact.

You should really concentrate on getting your ability up to the standard required to do a job at work.

I suppose we are never going to reach the level of the old grammar schools when teachers were respected for their intelligence and ability.

Is that what you've resorted to? Liar liar pants on fire <laugh>

I wasn't even trying to wum you fella and you've thrown your toys out the pram. It's a shame you support the bigotry of ppl like @petersaxton instead of holding him to account.
What bigotry is this? Any evidence? You continuing to be wrong about everything you say.

Have to say I am liking Leadsom. She's not your typical politician and now we're seeing the slick political machine trying to take advantage of that. She makes a comment about being a mum and as Ian Duncan Smith has said it's like a Black Ops operation to tarnish her and some are even claiming she should step down from the race <doh>

As I said a week ago, I saw her on an interview and she was pressed to give a 'yes' or 'no' answer and I was expecting her to do the typical politican thing of coming out with some "non-answer" but instead she replied "Yes" which was refreshing simply because it showed someone who perhaps hasn't been groomed by the political machinery. Her comments about being a mum giving her the edge, while maybe naive, also provides some hope she's not just a soundbite.
She said "yes" but she obviously didn't want to. I got the impression that she had never even thought about the issue - which is a bit worrying.
You seem impressed by her comments about being a mum giving her the edge but on the contrary they were incredibly stupid. How can something like that give her the edge? Do you think not having children makes Theresa May less good?

I can't pretend that all of it is easy to put across in a way that some of the less, er..perceptive? Voters would understand.

However, the effects on the UK economy, what that would mean for jobs, property values, and the famous 'pound in your pocket' could and should have been out over a lot better, and a lot more forcibly.

This has not so much to do with the City, that's what they fail to understand. The economic effects of this vote have and will hit everybody in the UK.

The facts are you're a bigot. Your posts about Romanians (among others) are proof enough. You never like to respond to the point being made. We were talking about the Sensible Party. Are you embarrassed by it? I think you know deep down you're a relic. This thread has given some meaning to your life, granted but out in the real world you're a nobody who feels the need to blame those damned 'darkies' for your own failures (for those too dense to get sarcasm, use of the term 'darkies' is to hold a mirror up to what Pete really thinks about ethnic minorities and stems from his 70's rooted "Love Thy Neighbour" culture :) )

Whoooooooooooooooosh!

You mock the education of others yet write that sentence?

I ain't taking the piss as I have no issue with grammatical mistakes but you come across as a snob particularly around the issue of education.

What's sad (and ironic) is that dunces like him hold the opinion that we don't have "children of quality" in this country.

It was a typo.
It's nothing to do with being snobbish. I think most people accept that grammar schools were better than the state schools of today.

Are you saying that Romanians are not responsible for more ATM and copper thefts than other people in the UK on a per capita basis? You seem to think that somebody is a bigot if they accept the truth.

Why should I be embarrassed by the Sensible Party?

You must be deluded if you think this thread would give anybody any meaning to life. What failure are you talking about exactly? What have I said about ethnic minorities?

You seem to spew out any lies without any shame. Is that how you teach?

I have asked you aleady; show me where I have supported any bigotry of Peter Saxton? You failed to do so, but you continue with the lie. That makes you a repeated liar; it really is that simple, no emotion, no toys out of pram, just fact.
