Have enjoyed the debate up to now, but if I don't get on with the decorating before the misses gets back, either "in or out" will be irrelevant.
Buts that's the point I'm making, the economists who knew the banking crisis was coming, as early as 2006, are the ones that generally are discrediting the scare tactics being used by the remain campaign.
Being in the EU is not going to protect us from world events. The shrinking economy in China should be more of a worry.
And this is why I will always go back to my original question which is HOW do we know that our economy will crumble if we leave?
Today's latest offering by Osbourne, is that pensions will be affected. Hasn't that ship already sailed, when Brown dipped into the lucrative pension pot, companies almost overnight did away with final salary schemes and the goverment retirement age increased by a couple of years?
This all happened whilst being a member of the EU, so potentially none of us are immune to rising unemployment, mortgage rate rises, world events which trigger recession, aging populations putting our health service under even more strain than it currently is, paying more for goods and services than the rest of Europe, further increases in retirement ages, TTIP (which is being negotiated, somewhat in secret, without the UK being represented and should be a real worry to us all), further increases in our net contribution to the EU etc, etc.
Why do the remain campaign seem to suggest that we will be in the **** if we leave, when from where I'm sitting, it's not that clever now!

Bit rich to imply that I might be a coward (Bluey will love that) given you've just said you would only fight if every man in the country was also prepared to fight! That's hardly putting yourself forward pal!You know where I was coming from, its freedom of our nation and staying in is giving what they died for.
I would be happy to fight against the aggressor, as long as every other man who has come into this country stands with me to fight back.
Would you fight or run away a coward?
His grandad fought in the war you know....Bit rich to imply that I might be a coward (Bluey will love that) given you've just said you would only fight if every man in the country was also prepared to fight! That's hardly putting yourself forward pal!
I think Russia and its fans are showing us in the Euros what it's like to be a country outside the EU. I dont want us to turn into them. If you dont like it here I suggest you go live in Russia for a while. Trek across Siberia and see the hardship they're facing. The weather's bloody awful!
I ****ing hate it when the right wing boneheads start bleating on about 'We fought a war for England to be free and now we've given all our power to Brussels'. We fought in the war against Fascism and for a free Europe, where countries could co-exist and cooperate instead of tearing lumps out of each other, not for some isolationist or nationalistic agenda.
His grandad fought in the war you know....
...and he didn't do that so all these darkies and gypos could come over here taking our jobs and shagging our women....
So that is 45% to a group of 27 countries and 55% to the other 170 plus countries. That equates to 1.66% per EU country and 0.32% to all others. Also Tobes did not claim that it was 50% he said it was almost 50%. Please read and understand carefully before playing with a keyboard. You must log in or register to see images
Not 50% is it

Right on cue Bluey. You'd ask to meet up with all of them. For tea and a fumble though, not a fight!
