Yeah I can agree with that conclusion. I think different options are key. And why someone like crouch should be considered or even Andy Carroll (which i know will get me stick)
What's your thoughts on the keepers? They picked themselves, but who starts? Toss up between Pope and Pickford, probably the latter for me.
why does southgate ,keep saying (we ) who is in charge here. who picked the team /squad who is the manager .. thought he was . or is he playing safe ..
I don't think it should get any stick like, a fit and on form Carroll would surely go. Crouch has fallen out of fashion, but he'd be worth it for the tweets alone! Even the best teams struggle to deal with them, and I can just see German defenders breaking when Crouchy bends himself like a pretzel to hit a volley. Kane has to really step up this tournament and show his club form.
It could be a ploy because he could be instructing his fullbacks(wingbacks) to push up. They will probably be the most active 2 players on the pitch running up and down if that goes to plan. Therefore, like we do at Spurs, he could be exhausting them then rotating them so they get their rest...therefore needing 4.
Keepers are weird as there's no set number one and theres not a huge difference between them all but like you I'd probably give Pickford the number one and tell him it's his to lose.
I think Pickford is ****..only good thing about him is his distribution and that should not be why a keeper gets into a team. Did you see his **** ups in his last game...flapping like a Seal. Pope might concede too but he does the basics right.
I watched Ashley Young make his professional debut - and 16 or so years on the world will see him score the winning goal in the world cup final.Frigging have it!
It was Lampard who slated him for being on the edge of the box and not tracking a runner at the end of a game. It turned out he was injured. The next time Lampard was on and they discussed Shelvey, Lampard said nothing about him. He was owed an apology in my opinion for getting unfairly ripped to pieces. Seriously, while his form was patchy in the first half of the season, since the turn of the year Shelvey has been outstanding and the last couple of months has been running games with his passing. He gets his head up as soon as gets the ball and gets play going forward. He does the defensive work too and he hasn't been booked this year I believe so has been working on his temperament clearly. Like has been said, when England need a plan B he would be a good option but the fact that he was never called up for the last friendly games made it pretty clear that he wasn't going to the world cup. His face just doesn't fit.
You'd pick him on the strength of that? Okay. Alex McCarthy was Motm against Swansea last Tuesday, (and our other keepers are ****) should we take him?
Israel vs Iran in Russia? Winner plays Saudi Arabia, in the USA. Could solve a lot of problems that way.
No , not really but has been motm on lots of games . this season . also played well enough ,to change my mind on the player ( him and diame have been superb ,if the horse had paid attention .) It was not against ,tom dick or harry utd either .
I have had time to consider this madness overnight. I think Southgate is about to revolutionise modern football with his new full back buddying system. He will play Cahill on his own at centre back and then have two full backs on the right and two on the left. Its the next level in football formation development. He has decided to unleash it at the World Cup so no one can prepare for it. Rewriting the rule book, genius.
