Considering they've picked 10 defenders and only 6 midfielders they have to be playing something like 5-3-2, though it seems they have ****ed that up by picking 6 full backs and only 4 centre backs.
Based on the friendlies it seems Walker will be played as the RCB. Can imagine the side looking something like: Pickford Walker, Maguire, Stones Trippier, Dier, Henderson, Rose Alli, Sterling Kane
I don't agree. He's had a really good season at Newcastle and has flair and vision which our other midfielders do not have.
Serious question because I haven't been watching them all season. Do you think Dier and Alli can flourish at this level? And is Dier good enough to be a an International playmaker? Because that looks a pretty ordinary side, apart from Sterling and Kane. And Stones, maybe.
There must be another Jonjo Shelvey then, because the one I'm thinking of would struggle to get in Iceland's squad All about opinions though.
It's got a heavy sprinkling of caution and a failure to let go of old habits springs to the fore at the pivotal moment again WTF is Cahill doing in there? Rose has been nowhere to be seen either, the fat ****er. I'd play the Tottenham way and have Vardy, Alli and Sterling behind Kane...not sure about those behind our attackers as I think it's pretty average and any combination of players will do a very similar job
Alli 100%, he's exceptional, mate. Don't believe the media narrative that he ain't been good. Contributed towards 31 goals in 50 games this season for us (scored 14, assisted 17). Just needs to be allowed the freedom by Southgate that Poch gives him. Dier ain't a playmaker, he's a solid DM that can hit a decent pass. Problem is playing him with Henderson who offers nothing better or different to Dier. Play Dier with Loftus-Cheek or even drop Alli deeper and it'd look a much better CM pairing. If I could pick the XI, I'd go with: Pickford Walker, Maguire, Stones, Rose Sterling, Dier, RLC, Alli Kane, Vardy Think we'd be much better off with an attacking team but it won't happen, the selected squad implies it'll be the 3-4-2-1 formation.
I reckon he will go attacking personally. I bloody hope so as our forward thinking players are our strength. Pacey wing back backs and Sterling and Kane's finishing ability. Looking forward to it. You heard it hear first we're going to win the thing
On reflection we have an average squad....so hopefully people don't take the piss if they don't get to the semi finals at least
Rose has been ****e this season - overweight and uninterested. With Delph and Young in I'm not sure we need a 3rd left back, but if we do, then Bertrand is very unlucky.
