How are Labour doing after their first 12 months

  • Total voters

Agreed.

Streeting is a clipboard and spreadsheet politician, and an extremely good one.

If he stays in his lane, he could go down as one of the most successful and effective senior ministers in this country's history.

But as PM? He has wildly overestimated himself there. Bit like Richarlison's tattoo of himself in the middle of R9 and Neymar. Know your place.
I'd guess he's been phoning around trying to find out what support he has got, his allies reckon he has the numbers, I'd suggest they are being economical with the truth.

I'd also guess everyone is waiting for Wes to make the first move, if he don't challenge then no one else will. The thing Streeting has to remember, let's say for argument sake he's got 90 backers...

He won't have....but those 90 backers would suddenly defect if he did, as soon as others join the race you have now triggered.

And then there's the illusion of thinking you have enough support just because 90 ultimately self-serving MPs who know you very well and are probably your mates say you'll do a good job, versus support among the public who'll actually vote you into power.

And that's where Burnham wipes the floor with him. He surely can't be blind to that.

Yup, Burnham without doubt is the favourite, WS was just chancing his luck because he knew it was now or never because Andy can't make a move yet, but Burnham would IF forced to.

It's better everyone leaves the situation alone, see how Starmer is performing come September, because that's the earliest Andy Burnham can move without causing all out war and that's only if the NEC allow it.

<laugh>

It wouldn't let me look at it, probably because my VPN is on, either that or it's been taken down.

Says 404 so could be a broken link.

It's a good job the Donkey Sanctuary took that down before @The RDBD could pollute this thread his perverted leanings

Labour MP Josh Simons is set to resign, triggering a by-election in Makerfield to create a route back to Parliament for Andy Burnham.

Going to be funny if Andy Burnham ^ gets the nod from the NEC and the electorate reject him during the by-election.

The danger for Labour at the moment is that they are so unpopular, Reform might put up a candidate (with zero experience other than retweeting anti muslim videos) and they will get in.

You'd like to think the electorate are brighter than that, but we all know that people vote for stupid ****e.

Farage has already come out and said he looks forward to the contest.

I know nowt about the area up for by-election so I can't really comment. I recognise the MP that has stood down, even though I didn't know the name because I've seen him on quite a few politic programmes.

If the Labour MP got in with a big majority last time, then you'd think it would be a reasonably safe seat

And putting Burnham up for it, you would think would galvanise the Labour voters to come out and make sure he wins it

You never know though in the country at the moment. Farage has successfully frightened enough politically illiterate people to go out and vote for complete **** nuggets with zero experience who were only last week painting roundabouts

Labour government considering new laws that will require anyone who streams Netflix and Amazon Prime to pay for a BBC licence fee!
