How are Labour doing after their first 12 months

Agree, Kemi must realise there was a bunch of Tory MPs that wanted Jenrick as the leader, not her, so of course they're now going to be inclined to walk out with him.
Yeah, it just seemed a clumsy thing to say, as soon as she uttered the words, it's like a head in hands moment.

Don’t beat around bush mate, tell us what you really think.

What the geezer did was inexcusable - but I'd also want the 'enquiry' (if there ever is one) to take a look at the broader background - would hazard a guess that in his 'performance goals and objectives' (effectively set by those who have just 'encouraged' his exit), were ones relating to overseeing / facilitating increased (or improved) relationships with 'local communities' and other 'politically correct' nonsense... policing should, first and foremost, be about ensuring 'everybody' adheres to the laws of the land - they are not there to be quasi social workers ..

Rant done! <laugh>

What I see is a public servant anxious to prevent violent disorder on his patch. That's his job, isn't it? It was until he retired, anyway.

Yes - but as a high ranking professional, ultimately responsible for such a high profile decision, he should have weighed up the 'risk' and supporting 'evidence' himself - clearly didn't - the phantom West Ham game, for instance - and therefore had no plausible justification for a blanket fan ban; the like of which has never been seen before in this country ...

Has happened before with Galatasary at Leeds but very different situation with no fabricated evidence.

Thing that gets me, it was all centred around the way the away fans would behave or the concerns of local residents, when in fact it had nothing to do with football at all, it was a bunch of local thugs that turned up, plus extremists from other parts of the UK 'probably' to cause trouble, doubt many of them even went to the game or even had any interest in the game. If this had been anyone else the truncheons would have been out battering them. But for some reason we have to treat them with kid gloves while inconveniencing actual match going fans from both teams. At least we know this is acceptable behaviour now according to the local MP Khan, and next time the far right kick off, I'll expect the same leniency and local MP's coming out in support of them.

If the cops thought they couldn't police the event the match should have been called off, until such time they have sufficient resources to allow law abiding citizens to go about their business.

That protest/scuffle had no place at an English football match and that was on the back of the cops supposedly having implemented measures for the game to go ahead peacefully - it failed because they were allowed to have their way and cause a disturbance.

Football clubs will always do their best to get on with their neighbours, but it should always be remembered the football club was there long before the residents, excluding new stadiums.

The issue here for me is not the police are idiots but that the Muslim community can get a game called off through threats of violence .

Cos that’s what’s happened here regardless of any after fukups from the police who are a daily joke tbh
