I’ve done Keto a couple of times, really helped me when I was at my heaviest at around 17 stone (not as heavy as some but heavy for me) ended up getting down to my current weight of 12 1/2 and i still try and stick to it now, I’m not as strict with it at all, and have a very active job which largely helps, but I would recommend it highly for 3/4 months, you’ll see a big difference, and as long as you don’t have ridiculous portions, can still enjoy most parts of a good fry up
I'm on a keto now, mate. Just waiting for it to kick in...

I would probably eat my arm if I had two days free from food it’s also fairly obvious you will lose weight you are only eating five sevenths of what you ate before.

you don't fast all day and you're allowed 800 calories. Say you started the diet and tomorrow was a fasting day. If you last eat at 9:00 tonight you Don 't breakfast 'till around 1 the next day its a 16 hour fast. your next meal can be anytime e but we find around 7 is best. No carbs if possible, fish and lean meat are good plus plenty veggies. the nic e thing about it is you can focus on the next day and have a jam b uttie for breakfast. I try to help and keep to the same diet, I'm retired and that makes it easier so today is a fasting day but I can still have 20 min warm up in gym and have an hours squash without feeling like I need blood sugar

Don't do a 800 calorie diet Sid. It's known as a very low calorie diet or vlcd. It's strictly clinically supervised and potentially very dangerous and can cause malnutrition and effect organ function. You need a clinically recommended nutrient plan to go with it and there's no way in hell a professional would agree to you doing it. Not a good one anyway.

I was doing intermittent fasting on 1600 callories 1500 is the recommended lowest for a man.

Eeeeeee you make me laugh , they're only doing it 2 days out of 7 , its no worse than being on night shift .

When i used to do nightshifts I used to feast on curries. Can't explain it but I used to love to have one before and then after my shifts. I was like 20 in fairness, in the exciting sphere of Lingfield Point medical records! Woop woop.

As for weight, when I changed jobs 7 years back i lost 2 stone in 8 months just from going from a sitting job to one I'm on my feet all the time. Sedentary lifestyles/jobs have a lot to answer for, we surely aren't designed to be like this (he says sat on a massive couch, typing away on the internet)

Just off the usual suspects Bri :emoticon-0136-giggl

Its all just a bit of fun, we can't all agree and people react differently to disappointment, I tend to get pissed and rattle on, never any offence meant.

Hope you're all good kidda :emoticon-0148-yes:

From previous experience one answer, if you don't want to go onto anything 'formal', is portion control.
Carry on as usual, just eat a little less.
Even with the ale, drink a little slower and cut out the last pint.
Nothing drastic and you wont get quick results but it's the slowly, slowly approach.

Exercise can help as well.
The gym if that sort of thing suits, jogging if you are up to it but failing all that, simply walking.

Down to 18st 13lbs already. I keep dreaming of pies, but remain determined...

Congrats Sid. First few weeks you'll lose the most in terms of percentage.

It's keeping the good habits long term which is the challenge. If you can make the changes actual full lifestyle changes as opposed to short term fixes you're going to get to where you need to be.

All the best mate

As poly has just said - cut down , don’t eliminate. If you think pies have gone for life , yes uou’ll dream of them , crave and desire them until you break , and end up gorging on them . Half the amount and know there’s one waiting for you soon.
And as Jack says, don’t expect the initial results to continue at the same rate ( they may , in which case brilliant) but weight loss doesn’t usually go down in a straight line , it will level some weeks ,it will go up occasionally . Just look at the long term pattern , and see that the new lows are getting lower
