Anyone on one? The boss has just got me started. Apparently, being 19St 5lbs when you're only 5'9" is wrong. I don't see it myself, but then I don't see my knob either. I'm under orders to shed about 6 stone, which is a tall order for someone with a partiality for steak & kidney pies and Fullers ESB.

Apologies in advance if I get shirty with anybody, but my natural easygoing disposition will be sorely tested in the coming months. It's only day 2 and I'm ****ing wasting away here, you pie-eating bastards <grr>

The good wife and I have both been on a Weight Watchers internet diet for 3 months.
It's slow and steady and we've lost two stones between us, the meals have been interesting and points counting which is what you do has been left to herself so no problem.
She sent off to WW for a couple of recipe books and it's not all lettuce and tomatoes in fact their chicken and leek pie is delicious.
No going to a weigh in session and embarrassing yourself.
Her target is another two stones off whilst mine is half a stone, so not quite in your league Sid.
Good luck hope this is of some use to you.

I got up to over 16 stone at one point and I didn't wear it well so I went on a diet and got down to 13 which is about right for me. My advice would be to not go too extreme or it's unlikely to work long term, treat yourself to what you like but in smaller amounts and less often, you get used to it. Throw in the odd salad when you can be arsed.

Cutting down on beers helped a lot although replacing them with more whiskey probably isn't the healthiest plan, thinner but with a knackered liver.

I was over 19 st in June
    Now 16st 10lb today although 16st 7lb last Monday
It’s extremely hard to keep this weight off
    I struggle daily
    I enjoy my food
    I like my beer
I now drink small cans of strong beer or bottles
I have halved my fluid intake but still drink a couple of times a week
If I could cut the drink out I would loose more weight
I do very little exercise although I try to walk a mile or two most days of the week
    Good luck
    Just to add
I have many holidays and it’s difficult not to come back heavier

Sid I'm 5 10 and 20 stone down from 21.5. I was down to 19.5 but stalled as my depression has kept me on the gym. But I'm still watching my calories so stopped putting it back on.

Try muscle food for your meat. The quality is outstanding, lean and tasty as hell. Just be strict on calorie intake and get exercise. You can eat what you want so long as you don't go over but lean meat means you can eat a bit more and feel more full.

Oh, and don't be fooled by brown and seeded breads, they have the highest calories. The Danish is the lowest I've found.

Good luck mate. It's not that bad. Just wish I could get my head and body clock right so I can start losing again. I was doing 1600 a day but now on 2300. Will reduce again when I get back on it.

Oh yeah. Hope you like gin and slimline tonic as it's your only chance of getting pissed without obliterating your calorie count. Ha!

I’ve done Keto a couple of times, really helped me when I was at my heaviest at around 17 stone (not as heavy as some but heavy for me) ended up getting down to my current weight of 12 1/2 and i still try and stick to it now, I’m not as strict with it at all, and have a very active job which largely helps, but I would recommend it highly for 3/4 months, you’ll see a big difference, and as long as you don’t have ridiculous portions, can still enjoy most parts of a good fry up

Dr Michael Mosley 5:2 diet works. Wifey has type 2 diabetes which was getting worse. She was carrying visceral fat which impedes the insulin/glucose process. It was either imjections or diet and she was referred to a guy in Cleadon Park who suggested the diet. That was 2 years ago and she's lost over a stone in 6 months and not put an ounce back on, more importantly she doesn't need to inject insulin either. The whole plan revolves around limiting calorie intake for 2 days out of 7, eating normally for the other 5. He also suggests a medittaranean style diet - a glass of red wine on each of the 5 days is also recommended.

I too would recommend the 5:2 diet, I tried it a few years ago and honestly the weight just fell off. Its difficult on the 2 days but if you stick at it you will benefit greatly.

I would probably eat my arm if I had two days free from food it’s also fairly obvious you will lose weight you are only eating five sevenths of what you ate before.
