I'll elaborate, I think he is ****e.

I think he isn't quick enough to be a true quick striker, isn't a good enough finisher to be that sort of striker, isn't good enough at making runs to be that sort of striker. Never rated him too highly, but people really defending him last season? His own manager admitted the reason he wasn't playing was because he wasn't good enough at the moment. Crouch got 4 in 29 last season, and was playing ahead of Defoe who got 4 in 22. Both played a fair few times. But when Defoe isn't offering goals he isn't offering anything at all. He has 68 goals in 203 league games for Spurs, he is a 1 in 3 striker. Not bad, but considering he is losing his pace, and needs a lot of chances to score. Not worth it.

Don't worry we can't afford any player that isn't free and pretty much unheard of.

To put it into context though, he missed two and a half months from September, and struggled to regain fitness, form and a spot in the team. A return of 37 goals in 83 games since returning to Spuds suggests he knows where the net is. Indeed the year before last he scored 24 goals in 43 games. I'd take some of that.

He's a good player. As already mentioned, we can't expect some top 1 in 2 or more striker for less than £10mill. Let's be realistic.

In 09-10 he scored 18 goals in 34 apps. That's proof that he can bag an awful lot of goals when he finds a good level of form.

I'd have him. Good signing which shows intent.

Him and Erdinc would be perfect.

Then Hubnik and M'Bengue on the cards and I would be looking forward to the start of the EPL

If Ashley has any sense he will make it happen, sure to appease us for a while and may get a decent deal out of it, 7/8 mill and he could be ours. One of my friends at work is decent friends with him (more so his cousin) so I will try and find out if the story has any legs tomorrow. Don't hate me if I can't find details. but i'll try
