Apparently hes just been on SSN saying that he has no desire to leave spurs. (Defoe that is)

think it will have something to do with the brand new mansion he's having built for himself. his own specs etc. shame, wanted him here. if they get vucinic from Roma though, maybe he'll reconsider ......

I'd have Defoe but not ahead of Erdinc. He can be as happy as he likes at Spurs but if they have to sell to buy their system suits a big man so he and Keane will be first out the door.

i think 10m or below is good for jermaine defoe hes a proven goalscorer when he plays, nets in all competitions, an england international and hes not exactly too old either. the fact hes english will add an extra few mil on thats why i said ten at the most. thing is while hes a pacey striker with a good finish hes more of a poacher and shadow striker he needs another presence upfront who can provide for him

I'd rather sign Shane Long from a long term point of view. He's really started to look the business. He'd outscore Erdinc I'm sure. Low wages, probably get him for £7m. He's the only one of the strikers that we're linked with that I think could really excite us and it's clear he's got potential there. I think he's only going to get better and better.

I'd like to see us take a chance on Long as well .. if the Erdinc thng doesn't work out .. but I'll be honest, if Reading have turned down £8Million from West Ham they're pricing the lad out of a move to anywhere ..

And on Defoe, he'll not say anything other than he wants to stay at Spurs until a definite bid comes in and gets accepted, which I don't believe has happened yet, otherwise that's his bridge burnt ... doubt he'll arrive at NUFC though, good as he would be .. <ok>

My point was 'England International' means **** all. Saying he's an England international so he'll do for me... Nugent is an England international. Emile has over 60 caps for England. Anyone can play for England, we're ****e.

My point is that he is good enough to get in our team.

I'd much rather have Ben Arfa. Or Ba.

    Best outscored Defoe last season.

that may just be them pricing him out of a move to one of their rivals next season. I reckon they'd struggle to hang on to him if a (massive) premier league club came in for him (i.e. NUFC ;))

Are clubs allowed to say "clear off West Ham with your £8Million, no chance" .. but then say "Well hello there NUFC, £6Million you say .. I think we have a deal :emoticon-0150-hands" .. (if that's what you meant)

Yes! Hence why Man City pay over the odds for players.

Edit: And also quote 2 different prices for Tevez
