I reckon if I saw Pardew I'd say "Oi Pardew, see this lad Defoe? You should make it Jer-main priority to sign him"...

Didn't Pardew sell Defoe at West Ham, didn't think they got on.

Yes played under Redknapp and Roeder as well, before leaving for Tottenham in January 2004, having been sent off 3 times in the first half of the season.

He'd be a good signing for the right price, I reckon. Knows where the net is, proven in this league, he's used to playing in this league, could be good.

It's gonna be awkward either way. Defoe, Pards and Crouch are the same heigh distance apart. Either Defoe talks to Pardew's balls or Pardew talks to Crouch's balls.

I can feel an American sitcom coming on...

Those critical of Erding often point to his stats and goals to appearances ratio, but Defoe's isn't any better (looking quickly at them). I'm not opposed to either player though, just saying, it's funny how if a player has a reputation we interpret stats differently

At this minutenin time, I would take Defoe or erdinc. We need another striker in pronto and both could do a job. I'd lean more towards erdinc, simply because he is one of Carr's picks and at 24 would prove easier to mould into the type of player we would need. Defoe has his game now which won't change but having said that defoe could work really well playing with Ba. But having ben arfa in a role behind Ba, I think erdinc would give us more options.

so we dither over giving barton a new deal, get rid of nolan because of our new policy over the age of players and are now looking at signing a 28yr old who would be on a 3-4 yr contract <doh>

i,ve never seen erdinc play so can't comment on him, but saying that i would rather sign defoe over crouch. I know defoe had a dodgy season, but sometimes a move restarts a player and he is a small nippy type of striker we need.

doubt he will be here though, due to his wage demands etc...

Saw Defoe play last night for spurs XI against the mk dons- my god the guy is a midget, he takes little striker to the extreme!
I wouldn't object to him coming here, I think he'd work well with Ba. As far as age goes he has got a few years left in him however I can't see him being released for anything under £8 million which doesn't really fall into Ashley's transfer policy and makes me wonder how much truth is in this story?

For **** sake he's an England international so he'll do for me. It's not like we are going to sign up David Villa
