Quality but both him and Crouch would seem totally at odds with our recruitment policy. If you pay 6.5m for him, you'd be effectively writing off that money in favour of hoping his undoubted ability pushes onwards and upwards. Now call me an Ashley cynic, but can you really see him doing that? I think he'd much prefer to wait and go with what we've got. I don't mind our policy before anyone thinks I'm against it. In an ideal world the club would be in a better financial position, and our recruitment policy could be a little more progressive. i.e. quality talent supplemented by excellent youth prospects. Unfortunately our finances dictate we need to buy low, sell high. Calculated risks on young talent is the way to go. or find bargains like Cheick but they are few and far between.
Did someone really say he's ****e? He had an average season for Spurs last year but he knows where the net is and far surperior to anything we have including Ba.
