Out of contract at end of the season anyway, so won't be back.AOB to Pompey, done deal, but only to season end apparently.
I like the idea of Dyche.I didn't say it was realistic, just who my choice would be.
My choice is an unfashionable manager who'll never be appointed by a top half PL club but who has years of experience lower down. He can't be enjoying Burnley that much and probably isn't highly paid. If not him I'd like someone like him, I'm giving an example of the kind of manager I believe we need. Tough, experienced and happy to live in the area.
Your 'realistic' choice is someone who has no experience of management, would have to leave his mansion in Surrey to come to the far NE coast and 'may be a failure'.
I want someone proven whereas you're happy to take a flier because he'd command respect, which I doubt tbh
Ive never responded to one of your posts, but I shall now. We ended up a few years ago with almost no players. We were a joke of a club. The mismanagement was horrendous. The standard of recruitment smacked of desperation. The quality and potential of the signings we have and can retain with success is miles away from where we were. So please go and stick your head in the oven, gas mark 7, for 20 minutes, with a sprinkle of salt, put the gas on, leave for 20 minutes and then set it alightI don’t mind the odd loan but not when we could end up at least six players down in summer.
I’d have liked to get decent championship players. Batth comes with decent pedigree at that level. Kongolo would be same.
The Germans aren’t up to much in my opinion and are being cut slack due to fact they’re at big clubs. Waste of time them two.
Doyle don’t mind but can’t be relied on week in week out like we have done.
Evans and Pritchard are crocks which is why they’re here.
Huggins hasn’t kicked a ball really and cirkin looks Ok.
How if this recruitment is so good are we languishing in 3rd place?
His recent performances have been crap, maybe he had his head turned by the Shrews?Tom Flanagan has gone to Shrewsbury permanently as well. That’s a strange one when it’s centre half’s we need.
We must have someone lined up as we’re light at the back anyway. His recent performances have been crap, maybe he had his head turned by the Shrews?
Absolutely buzzing. Waited up all night for that for it to be announced ten minutes after I fell asleep
Anyone who had reservations about his age, clearly don’t know Jermain Defoe, he will bang them in for fun in this tin pot league mark my words.

Billy Sharp is scoring in the Championship, he's not the player Defoe is and is 36 iirc ...
... O'Brien has gone and tbh I'd rather be looking at the bench, 1-0 down with 20 minutes to go, and seeing Defoe.
If he came on the crowd would go mad and the L1 defenders would do a little poo![]()
I’m pretty sure Teddy Sheringham was banging them in for Portsmouth at the age of 41 in the prem and I can guarantee he was no fitter or sharper than Defoe currently is.I’m pretty sure Teddy Sheringham was banging them in for Portsmouth at the age of 41 in the prem and I can guarantee he was no fitter or sharper than Defoe currently is.
I am buzzing for Saturday now. The Bolton result feels a lifetime ago![]()

When I came away from Bolton I was determined I wasn't going next Saturday.......changed my mind now like!![]()
Have you ever known a more bipolar football club than us
