Time to stop pretending we are a big club and work towards becoming a great club .... Get the team first and then throw money at it
Don't think any of us think we are a big, media point of view we are always big news for wrong reasons,I agree settle club down & have low profile for a change & just get on with rebuilding our status.
We are what we are lads and lasses....at the end of the day it's only a game, there are far more important things in life than Queens Park Rangers Football Club. To us this is only a hobby, lets enjoy it for what it is.........
Fing it was ever thus supporting QPR. You certainly don't follow them for the silverware. Do you recall the time we met up away at Leeds in that dire Saturday lunchtime kick off? It was dreadful despite winning. That's what being a QPR fan is all about, you cannot appreciate the highs without enduring the lows - and there are too few of the former and too many of the latter. Who would want an Arsenal continued level of 'success'? Not me. I love our ability to repeatedly shoot ourselves in the foot. As a fanbase that defines us. And that is a good thing So i agree with your sentiment, but would ask you to reconsider your self imposed exile. I've tried alternatives to the Rangers over the years but nothing can ever come close to matching joy/pain that our beloved football club offers us. Go the distance, take the road less travelled. Its about the journey, not the destination.
what did finglas think about the appointments of mark and harry give ramsey a chance for ****s sake if he balls up with his own team then slag him
I have supported QPR since the 80's and have always liked the fact that occassionally we punch above our weight but as a rule we are a little bit rubbish. I hope that it never changes tbh.
Since I was taken to my first game by my late father in January 66 we have had something like 7 promotions and 6 relegations this is what following the R's is all about, it's a rollercoaster of highs and lows......
This has to be post of the year so far! Nail on the proverbial head. Can this be stickied for future reference when some lose perspective?
Eamon, This decision is, of course, entirely up to you & I know it has not been taken lightly. I hope that we may see you on an occasional visit, but if that is not the case, may I say what a pleasure it was to have enjoyed your company at the C&S for your last visit to Loftus Road. If you change your mind, there will be plenty of us wishing to buy you a beer! Good luck mate, it has been a pleasure to have met you.
All I would say is remember the 24th May 2014 and 89 mins 49 secs... Nothing will come close on a football field. What you felt then is so deep inside you it will never leave you as long as you draw breath... You'll be back...
Totally agree TF if the position was advertised & no other more suitable/qualified candidate came forward then fair enough offer a contract to CR but even then 3 years is a joke for someone who's record to date absolutely appalling. TF has done the equivalent on betting the future of our club on 1000/1 outsider, yes there's a small chance it may come off but if it doesn't things could get a lot worse & uglier than they already are.
Our club has had more up's and down's than a service provider ................ and a seasoned one at that.
Are Derby going to poach our "dream" manager? Derby eye Paul Clement as Steve McClaren replacement - sources please log in to view this image Paul Clement currently works as Carlo Ancelotti's assistant at Real Madrid. Derby County have lined up a move for Real Madrid assistant coach Paul Clement if, as expected, Steve McClaren leaves his position as head coach, sources have told ESPN FC. There are serious doubts over McClaren's future at the iPro Stadium and the former England boss held talks with chief executive Sam Rush on Thursday to review the club's failure to make the playoffs. Further talks were scheduled for Friday and sources close to the club said board members are preparing for a change in management after becoming concerned by the team's form over recent months as well as the speculation linking McClaren with the Newcastle job, which some at the club feel undermined their promotion bid at a crucial stage of the season. After Derby's campaign had finished, McClaren publicly underlined his commitment to Derby, but it now appears that there is little prospect he will be in charge next season. ESPN FC has been told that Derby director Mel Morris, who is set to take over from chairman Andy Appleby, is pushing for McClaren to leave and he has made Clement his top target to replace the former FC Twente and Wolfsburg manager. please log in to view this image Steve McClaren led Derby to last season's playoff final but missed out on this season's playoffs Burnley boss Sean Dyche is also a contender to replace McClaren, with the former Watford manager having admirers at the club, but it is expected that Morris will have the final say once he becomes chairman and that he prefers Clement. Clement could soon be available for the job as he is expected to leave Real Madrid along with head coach Carlo Ancelotti at the end of the season, with the Spanish giants widely reported to be planning to relieve the Italian of his duties once their season ends this weekend. Clement, who also worked with Ancelotti at Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain, said last year that he was keen to test himself as a manager and he has previously been linked with the Sunderland, Queens Park Rangers and Newcastle jobs. http://www.espnfc.com/english-leagu...aul-clement-to-replace-steve-mcclaren-sources
Hindsight's a marvellous thing but I still stand by the fact that McLaren had a good thing going with our club. Sometimes, regardless of what has happened before, things click and things did click when McLaren was with us. Unfortunately, we will never know anymore than this.
I don't post but felt I had to. Whilst I understand the OP's frustration, we've been in much worse situations than what we're currently in. I see Ramsey as inexperienced but he knows every single player right through all the ranks and this is really powerful when we're looking to build, not just the first team, but the whole club from the bottom up. He's also hungry with a point to prove so what better motivation for someone to succeed? I see this phase as really exciting journey for us and one I'm looking forward to be part of even though I expect it to get worse before it gets better. When you've supported a club for so long, when it's in your blood, when it's the thing you look forward to the most each weekend, I just can't understand how you can just walk away from it? We are QPR and it's never been easy. Having supported the R's for so long, you more than anyone should know it's never an easy ride. If you prefer easy, you only have to go down the road. You'd pay more but at least you'd get your money's worth but I suspect that's not what's it's about...
