Joe Kinnear has got JD Weatherspoons (large brekfast and a pint of ruddles for £6.24) over the line.

BBC Sport chief football writer Phil McNultyFELLAINI TO MAN UTD?

"I'm told talks between Everton and Manchester United are progressing and this deal should now be concluded successfully before the deadline, as most of us have expected.

"It is understood Fellaini has been given permission to delay linking up with the Belgium squad for their World Cup qualifiers against Scotland and Croatia to enable him to complete the transfer - once it's all been agreed of course."

"I'm told Mike Ashley let Cabaye listen to phone negotiations last week + he heard Arsenal say £25m a lot for a reserve" @Pearcesport

interesting.....

BORINI TO SUNDERLAND

Italy football writer James Horncastle: "No one will be more pleased to see Liverpool striker Fabio Borini nearing a loan move to Sunderland than Italy coach Cesare Prandelli. It's hard to understate how highly regarded the 22-year-old is back home.

"A member of the Azzurri's Euro 2012 squad after scoring nine goals in his only season at Roma, Borini's first one at Liverpool under Brendan Rodgers, his former mentor during his time at Chelsea's academy, was desperately unlucky. Injuries meant he never really got to show his worth.

"Should Borini get a run of games under his compatriot Paolo Di Canio at the Stadium of Light, then he will score goals. He has an instinct for them, which in the past has led to comparisons with Pippo Inzaghi."

More fire power at Sunderland, how many is it now that they've brought in.

**** all? People will just boo Cabaye again?

Nah, we've conveniently leaked details stating that Arsenal wanted him as backup to the first team. That should give the management team enough to drum up some sympathy.

Such a desperate situation as a fan. Your owner has no care or interest in the club he owns, nor does he have any respect or time for its fans. Instead all he wants is to take back the money he chose to sanction as a loan (he could just as easily have extended the Barclays loan instead, which would have cost us quite a bit less to finance per year (notwithstanding APR%) so he can cut his own profit. What makes it so unpalatable is that he does all this whilst shamelessly plugging his other business which has made him worth some 9 times as much wealth as the club itself is worth. We have no ambition aside from finishing somewhere north of 18th in the league, cups are an inconvenience and this will continue to be the case. All hidden behind fake bids and financial fair play rules that seem only to apply to some.

Nothing that hasn't been said a thousand times before, just magnified on days like today.

Why oh why didn't Pardew just say "we won't be signing anyone until January at the earliest, I would imagine. We spent in January and unfortunately, financially, we have books to balance and debts to pay. The only way this might change is if one of our first team players are sold, then we will try to replace them. That in itself would be difficult. Just want to make sure the fans understand where we are as a club."

Is there anything politically wrong with making a statement more or less like that? Or is Pardew so self-obsessed he wants to make sure the finger of blame is pointed squarely away from him? For me, it doesn't matter. If he really, really believed he needed players and knew the club wouldn't get them, then resign.
