Still no left back!

Its not through lack of trying we don't have a left-back, Orban, Mendy, Rose, german lad, were all attempted but for various reasons we cant/couldn't get any of them.

Its obvious we need to turn our attentions elsewhere,

Cissokko - Valencia - recently been linked with Liverpool for £4M
Izzagure - Celtic - £5M

If its still looking grim then I wouldn't be against a loan for the season giving us more time to scout about,

Bertrand - Chelsea - Loan
Buttner - Man United - Loan
 
Its getting a bit twitchy on the lb front, still hopefull on rose, lost track of orban and cavanda, are those deals dead?
 
As I mentioned in one of the other threads talking about our inability to land a LB, I wouldn't be I unhappy if he put Colback there with the message to make the position his. He proved he can do it defensively in that position, he just needs PdC or someone else to bring out the offensive part of his game.

In the meanwhile we can work a more permanent LB through the season when there is less spending pressure.

Cavanda is a target for Paolo di Canio's Sunderland.

Cavanda would be class competition for Peruzzi but I wouldnt want him playing left back
 
We can't rely on 1 LB, If we sign Rose we would still need someone else if Colback leaves the club. If Colback stays we still need to sign someone. We need 2 quality players for each position and while, Gardner JOS and Cuellar can cover RB I don't fancy any of those players covering the LB role.

Definitely Vegas. It's about time we had depth in this position, not a makeshift LB.

As for Cavanda, there was something that suggested a deal has been done, but it was an almost throwaway comment on an Italian site. I'll see if I can find it
 
I reckon the left back thing may be why JC won't sign - He doesn't want to be a left back (only speculating though but it would certainly make sense) - If PDC wants to coach him as a LB and he would rather be a midfielder playing occasionally at LB then this may be the issue - don't know like!
